Whoppers: Yay or nay?

I mean the candy. The original malted milk balls, not the fast food burger.

A lot of people I know rave about them, and I just don't get it. Who wants to eat crunchy chocolate that leaves a sugary puke-flavored aftertaste? Count me in the "nays."

Poll forthcoming.

Growing up, I lived on a block with a lot of old couples. Those sick bastards passed out Necco wafers every Halloween. They all did it.

I tried to convince my dad to let us trick-or-treat across the street and just forget about all the houses on our block, but that was too much of an inconvenience for him.

So every Halloween about 10% of my stash was made up of those disgusting pieces of crap. My friends and I used to take a couple wafers, shove them in a film canister with some water, add alka selzer, put the cap on and rest the canister upside down. Instant rocket, and it would explode the wafers everywhere.

The rest were thrown in the garbage. None of our parents wanted them, and we sure as **** didn't.

I used to eat Whoppers every now and again (can't eat them now) but I could take them or leave them. Where's the "Meh" option in the poll? Who ever said that the old fashioned malted milk balls were much, much better was right.

You're looking for the Direckshun option.

I don't care for any kind of hard candy (except Life Savers) and we used to get salt water taffy when we went to the coast but that's the only time it would ever occur to me to eat it.
