ANOTHER DGB THREAD!

Dorial Green-Beckham visiting the Chiefs today

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-chiefs-today/

While many pre-draft visits are for the sake of smokescreen, or to firm up medical information, many of them are for teams to look a player in the eye.

Likely along those lines, the Chiefs are bringing in one of the most talented players in the 2015 NFL Draft today, who comes with considerable baggage.

Via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Chiefs are hosting former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham today.

Green-Beckham has also visited the Bengals and 49ers, and the Vikings and Ravens have also met with him. Plenty of other teams probably have as well, to see if they are willing to gamble on a player with explosive ability and a checkered past.

Green-Beckham was kicked off the team at Missouri after a pair of drug arrests, and a domestic violence accusation (though no charges were filed). He transferred to Oklahoma, but never played a down there.

If you trust him, he’s the kind of game-breaking talent which any team can use, and getting him with the 18th pick might be a steal. Weighing whether they can take such a chance is the kind of thing most evaluators can’t decide before meeting someone face-to-face, which the Chiefs will do today.

Isn't he more of a zone guy? Tampa 2?

He's not even going to be on half of the NFL's draft boards. He's a risky, risky ass pick. The NFL doesn't like risk.

ERIC ROWE UTAH PAC-12

STRENGTHS Tall cornerback with long frame. Has the ability to disrupt wide receivers off the line of scrimmage and can mirror them out of their release. Jams and disrupts shallow crossers. Will throw his body around in run support if needed. Solid tackler. Attacks ball at catch point and makes it hard for receiver to finish the catch. Was a three-year starter at free safety before moving to cornerback this year. Can break hard on throws in front of him. Instinctive in zone with ball skills to match.

WEAKNESSES Linear body type with average play strength. Will struggle to carry NFL deep speed. Lacks an accelerator and is not a recovery-type cornerback. Limited as a man-cover corner. Has change-of-direction issues in tight spaces. Plays into boundary too often. Had to fight through a leg issue at one point during the 2014 season. Likely a scheme-specific player.

DRAFT PROJECTION Round 2

SOURCES TELL US "He's a long-strider with limited deep speed, so I see him as a Tampa-2 guy or maybe fitting with a defense similar to Seattle's where he has a good free safety helping over the top." -- AFC directer of college scouting "I think he's going to be good. He projects well. I think he'll be better in the pros than in college." - AFC defensive backs coach
NFL COMPARISON Pierre Desir

BOTTOM LINE Rowe won't be for everyone. Scouts have concerns about his deep speed and he's not a guy who can match and mirror in coverage. However, Rowe will be a nice fit for defenses looking for a long defender with disruptive downfield traits.

KC needs WR's that are system specific...it's why they went after Maclin...and Maclin only. DGB might turn out to be a great player..I dont think he would be in this offense /AS. Go after Defense...It's how you win in January. Its going to be DT/CB..or possibly OL.

Yep, build around the limited dipshit; a sure-fire key to success.

The people who like DGB compare him most often to Megatron AT THE SAME AGE. Calvin wasn't always the bulky creature he is today. Calvin is stronger than Dorial, but Dorial is faster. They are similar athletes...they just are.

Trying to make DGB into Jon Baldwin is pretty damn stupid. DGB is an elite athlete, where Baldwin wasn't. The complaints about his route running are equally stupid. Missouri asked him to run screens, slants, go's and posts. That was about it. He did those very well. He caught the ball very reliably and this nonsense about him not being about to get off the line...? Nice fiction.

I don't think KC will take him, fwiw. However, guys with his size/speed don't come along very often.

Because he couldn't play this year, would he have been able to return to college for one more year of eligibility?
