That's not necessarily the order I'd take those guys in due to positional value, but that's how I see the most pressing needs.

1=ILB = sorry to say but Derrick is not coming back and even if he did at his age his speed is gone - we have to be better at stopping the run!
2=OG = need better at LG - plus need depth across the line
3= Rb - Charles will be free to walk
4= NT = need replacement for Poe - we franchise this upcoming year and then he's gone
5= Wr = depth - Wilson is gone and

1. ILB - DJ is pretty much done at this point and the guys behind him are barely passable at the position. A Stud ILB can make all of the difference in the world for your defense.

2. CB/DB - As much as I like the way that Mitchell has stepped up to fill the role, I think the team could still use a lot of help there in the secondary and it never hurts to add a stud.

3. OLB - Pass rush is incredibly important in this league and, for the past 2 seasons, Houston hasn't been a reliable guy due to his injuries. Tamba is done in this league as a starting OLB and I never want to see Zombo on the field as a pass rusher ever again.

4. OG - As much as people harp on about OT's being important on the O-line, I think, for Reid's offense, dominant Guards may be even more important. I think LDT has developed into a decent starter but we still have questions at LG and we also struggled running the ball inside this year.

5. OT - Fisher has turned into a decent LT and Schwartz has proven his worth (when he finally got healthy). But the backup could be upgraded.

6. NT - How long do we have Poe for? If he's gone next season this gets bumped up higher. I don't want Jones to have to play the nose and take on double teams all of the time.

7. QBOTF - It's no secret that I'm a fan of Alex Smith, but he won't play forever. I don't see anyone on the team behind him that can develop into the QBOTF so now would be a good time to get that player as Smith will be 33 next year. That being said, I don't see many promising young QB's who are going to come out this year, IMO, it's a weak class.

I'm surprised to see OLB so far down the list. Granted ILB is a need that is by far the biggest on the team, Dorsey and his Packers colleagues never put the position that high on the draft list. The highest ILB I can think of was Bruce Wagner.

I look at this class and I see Ryan Anderson, Carl Lawson and Solomon Thomas as real options here that present tremendous value. I see Justin Houston's history of getting hurt often since Andy stepped foot at Arrowhead. I see Dee Ford having an injury filled career at Auburn and battling a few nagging injuries this year.
Most importantly, I can't get the disgusting picture of Frank Zombo rushing and a tackle holding him at bay with relative ease.

I think another strong pass rusher can be a huge asset down the road and would make this defense even better.

I think people fall into the 'just get more pass rushers' trap a little too much.

Ford and Houston will be here for another couple of years at least. And while I'm fine looking at depth guys to put behind them, I think we need starters at all the positions ahead of OLB (as I'm still not confident Berry is back), with the obvious exception of the developmental QB.

Just stacking high-value draft picks behind each other doesn't help much when you're in a situation where you can win a championship right this very minute and have a number of places that need to be firmed up.

He is the reason why we need to draft one. How healthy has Houston been the past 2 years?

could not stop the run and we couldn't run the ball and no pressure on opposing qb while ours is under constant pressure so:

1. stud ILB or NT
2. Pure WCO rb
3. oline - don't care if its a G or T
3b. olb

just want the BPA at those positions wherever they fall to us in this upcoming draft or we need to bring in a FA to fill one of those holes!

No he wasn't. Stop comparing Mitchell to Cooper. I told you all at the time that Cooper was too soft for this D. That he was no good. It was ****ing obvious to anyone who actually watched him, instead of getting all mushy over a couple of gimmie INTS.

Just because CP had an undeserved stiffie for Cooper doesn't mean that he's anything like Mitchell.

It'd be one thing if Houston kept getting dinged like Gaines.

He had ONE injury last year that led to a late surgery performed in February. He recovered and got back on the field in November.

Houston isn't injury prone any more than Allen Bailey or Jaye Howard. If an incredible pass rusher is available for us to draft, sure, take him. But people need to be realistic and patient with Houston. Give him a full offseason.

That's not necessarily the order I'd take those guys in due to positional value, but that's how I see the most pressing needs.
After yet another post-season flame-out:

Quick master list:
Spoiler!

Explanations:

1) QBOTF - Time to accelerate this one. He's not going to get better and we can't waste any more prime years for the Houstons/Kelces on the roster nor cheap years of Peters/Hill/Jones.

2) ILB - As pressing as ever, but since I'm actively seeking to replace Smith, this moves down the list.

3) DT - **** you, Poe. So tired of you no-showing postseason games. Begone, sir; we can get gashed up the middle without you and I'm not paying what you'll ask for. I could be convinced to move it down one spot as Howard can play the nose if needed and Jones/Bailey can play DE.

4) RB - Gotta get a playmaker back there. Someone that can break a long one or be more dangerous in screens/coming out of the backfield. Ware's a fine yeoman back but he's not a difference-maker in any fashion.

5) OG - Just need some nasty inside and we don't have it with LDT or Ehringer. If nothing else, more depth is needed to move on from Fulton as he's a massive liability against stunts/delayed blitzes.

6) S - Poe's money goes to Berry now so this is less critical. However, Ron Parker will be 30 next year (yup) and is reaching the higher paid parts of his deal. Probably time to find his long-term replacement. Might be White, might not be. Sorenson may also price himself out of KC and would need to be replaced.

7) WR - Hill's going to replace Maclin as a WR 1 by 2018 and Conley's become a credible possession WR. Still, WRs take enough time to develop that looking for your next WR2 now is probably wise. Besides, someday we'll have a quarterback than can feed more than 2 big-time targets.

8) DE - with Howard moving inside, more DE depth is needed. That said, the team's done a great job of finding contributors late in the draft and/or off the street. This system is very DE friendly. But if we can find someone stronger in setting the edge, it should be considered. Additionally, Bailey's gone in '18. He's plateaued and will not be worth his contract at that point.

9) OLB - Depth can't hurt and Hali's heading to the glue factory. Ford has 1 year left on his rookie deal and another on the option. Probably more pressing next season but it never hurts to look early.

10) CB - Moving way down because I'm pretty impressed by Mitchell and because other needs have just become more pressing. Mostly though, Mitchell looks like a ballplayer. Nelson's a solid slot CB. The only reason it's this high is because you can never have too much DB depth and they can almost always contribute on special teams.

11) P - Don't generally draft 'em but I don't want to pay Colquitt anymore.

12) TE - I think we're adequate with Harris, Shags and Travis at TE2 (especially if Harris can develop just a tiny bit more) but a big-bodied, outstanding blocking TE in the Jason Dunn mold as a TE3 would sure be nice.
