Candylicious: Round 1, Heats 29 through 32

Here are the rules. This will be a head to head tournament. For efficiency's sake, I will run four heats in each thread.

Therefore, I will put up four pairs of candies. For each pair, you will identify the candy that you would most like to have at the moment of voting. It doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite candy overall, just the one that sounds good right now. For visualization purposes, you may assume that you're out trick or treating (dressed as a gladiator), and the woman at the door is offering you your choice of two options. You can only pick one, or if you would turn them both down, you can pick zero (not to be confused with the Zero bar).

So to summarize, you will vote for four candies in each thread, one candy per heat. And here they are!

Heat 29: Mounds versus Spree

Heat 30: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups versus Red Licorice

Heat 31: Popcorn Balls versus Snickers

Heat 32: Sugar Daddy versus Riesen

On an objective note, I find it interesting how bipolar coconut is in candy. People tend to love it or hate it.
Coconut oil dries your mouth out. It gets added to some "sports drinks" to keep you thirsty so you guzzle the stuff because it will dry your mouth out even while drinking. As far as I know most people are sensitive to it to some degree. I can't swallow coconut. I can eat an old dry cookie from the back shelf of a 7/11 while drinking milk and I'll still end up digging tiny bits of coconut out of my mouth because it just sticks to my skin. Also the consistency of it is gross.

The best part about Reese's is not that they are so damn good, but that they are so ****ing rich that I can't eat much more than 2 at a time so I don't have to worry about noticing after 30 mins that there's 15 wrappers sitting next to me.

Voted:

Mounds. Spree are candy coated chalk.
Reese's Cups. Reese's is a top five candy hands down.
Snickers. I vastly prefer Milky Way and particularly Milky Way Midnight to Snickers but it is better than popcorn balls.
Riesen. I am always afraid with Sugar Daddies that I will pull out a tooth as they are so sticky.

This is a 100% true. A regular two-pack of Reese's peanut butter cups is always a great idea. But buying the King size and trying to work your way through two more always ends up being a monumental task. It's kinda crazy.

Take 5 is coming up in a bit. I don't know if I've ever had one. It seems pretty similar to other candy bars. It seems like all candy bars are various combinations of chocolate, caramel, nougat, and peanut as I think about it.

It is pretty different... mostly I think due to the pretzels in it.

It's a surprisingly good candy bar that is not overpoweringly candy-like.
