Repost Police suck my dick

Planetside is a REALLY addictive first person shooter..... on PC only right now MAYBE coming to SOny Playstaion eventually...

The battles are massive.....hundreds of people on the same battlefield. Combined arms, infantry, tanks, air, transport/supply vehicles.

Check this game out...lots of roles , not just grunt/infantry....You can really play engineers or medic or troop transport etc...squad leader.....pilot....gunner...bomber.....etc etc....





If you play on server "connery" as the NC (new conglomerate) I would be glad to squad up with you and show you a little of what I know. Its kind of a steep learning curve.....but it is REALLY fun once you learn to move around and find the "front lines" of the war and get into a squad....

2) make a character on server Connery , New conglomerate (blue team)

3) check it out a little bit , go to the "VR" virtual reality center and try out all weapons and vehicles

4) try 'instant action' and try joining a few different squads

5) post any questions or PM me if you wanna **** around and kill some shit


*If you hate the NC for some reason, I do have characters in the other factions (vanu & Terran) so I can hook up with you in those as well, theyre just not as advanced...I prefer NC but can play any of them as long as its Connery server.

I don't know why Planetside 2 says I don't meet the minimum requirements in my GeForce Experience, when every single other game I own says I can play on ultra settings just fine.

Hey im back at home now...

I remembered there was something if you run win 7 , you might want to google core parking or maybe look on the planetside forums...

Are you able to play on medium or high?

Or just not good FPS on ultra...?

this game is a hog. but theyre constantly tweaking it

So i'm looking at upgrading my video card as I've noticed problems in several games. My computer seems to meet all the specs for this game other than the video card so that's most likely where my biggest problem lies. Anyone have any ideas on what I should look for?

Even on Medium I was getting 30 and under and like high teens in combat.

Something is wrong. I need to figure it out.

OC'd my CPU to it's max safe settings and did that unpark thing and now I'm getting about 45 FPS on HIGH SETTINGS in the warp zone so I think that fixed it, thanks pawn.

I'm off of work today and down to play. I got really frustrated last night and didn't want to keep playing because of the horrible fps.

From what I understand Nvidia 650 series or higher....

A buddy of mine recomends the GTX 760 if you are high-top end ($250 bucks or so)

But you could probnably pick up a 650+ for a LOT cheaper....

I guess it depends on your budget, other games you play and how much FPS you are looking for....Keep in mind planetside is also very CPU intensive so even if you have the most insane card, you may bottleneck at your CPU....

depending on your board, CPU is upgradeable.

I had to unpark mine too, I am so glad I remembered, and that it worked for you man.

I am jealous of your settings, I can't even come close to that





Edit: I have some early work....but Ima try and finish by 1:00 PM...and then I would be able to play for a couple hours! My SOn gets home at 4:00 from Day Care, and wife from work....so I do some family time until he goes to bed.....at about 7:30-8:00 , and I can play after that too.

Me and homestead rolled for a while yesterday, but the NC were getting owned....

It was really fun though

I've got a Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz. I'm not exactly very computer savvy so I don't know what would max me out on that and whether I would need a new CPU as well.

Any good places to shop for a video card (price wise)?

Well, you are in the same boat I was in a few weeks ago...

here is what the minimum specs SAY they are:

  • Memory: 4 GB Installed RAM
  • Hard Drive: 15 GB free
  • Video Memory: 256 MB RAM
  • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8600 series or higher / AMD or ATI 4850 series or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible
So Apparently you would need to upgrade your chip also...which is fairly typical since it was produced about 5 years ago....

Have you ever put a new board / chip into your computer on your own?

Your system is barely under the minimum......but from what I hear (and have experienced) you need to be closer to the 'middle of the road' specs to even have a chance at 30 FPS:

I have never put a new board/chip into my computer on my own. I have put in RAM in the past though and wouldn't imagine it would be much more difficult. I'm unsure if my motherboard is able to be upgraded though. I'd have to pull it apart and take a look.

I could spend a few hundred on upgrading but I'm not looking for a master gaming rig or anything.

That didn't last for long, had to put back on Medium settings and there is an Alert right now so everyone is in this biolab and I'm getting 20 FPS. It's frustrating, but I can deal with it, I really like the game.
