Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Guys, i watched the coolest movie last night, if you have on demand tv you've GOTTA see it, if there is a movie that would appeal to a bunch of football bb fanatics more... i've never seen it.

Its on the on demand Sundance Film Channel and its called Big Fan starring Patton Oswalt (a SUPER cool dude i had the chance to meet when he opened for Janeane Garafolo in st. louis btw).

Its the story of a HUGE football fan who gets the shit kicked out of him by his all-time favorite player... funny, dramatic, bittersweet... all of that, best fits under "black comedy".

I'm tellin ya, i thought of the planet all the way through it and its GREAT, LOVED it.

I've seen that. It's actually on quite a bit so you can DVR it pretty easily. It's also listed as a free On Demand movie on Time Warner pretty often, if you have Time Warner.

I liked it, too.

There are some pretty surprising twists & turns i'm sure you'd agree, i'd love to spill some but dont wanna ruin it for everyone else.

The ending is a shocker!

Evidence that Patton is a total badass. Total Beef Stew.

Also, for traditional standup, look up Christmas Shoes and KFC Bowls.

Dude, that last one was so shitty I wont even watch the new one..

That franchise was ****ed from the beginning. They never should have given Alice powers, in my opinion. It just forced them to take the weird route, which blows. It was never about zombies.

Figured this was the wrong link? Its a few minutes of bad sitcom stuff with Oswalt briefly standing in the back.

I'm still tempted to rent it knowing it is bad. It's a series of bad movies that I tend to somewhat enjoy for what they are but sounds like the latest will have me wondering why am I watching this?

See it now. Nice.

Having not watched it, it still seems odd he was on that show since I only known his stuff in recent years. He really is pretty damn amusing and has turned up well in a few recent dramatic roles as well.

Ramin's version is more dynamic and emotional, but Mandy just catches something that only he could, a plaintiveness and despair.
That was me.

I've never heard Mandy Patinkin sing that... I don't really care for his interpretation at all. He's got an outstanding voice, but it didn't work for me.

My brother introduced me to Alfie Boe, who in my opinion trumps even the great Colm Wilkinson. This guy just blows me a way.

Been watching movies today...

Resident Evil: Retribution. Terrible. Just terrible. No wonder Jovovich got a Razzie nom. Even going in knowing it was going to be awful (because they're all awful, but hey - they're a guilty pleasure), it didn't meet my expectations.

Dredd: Pretty solid. It was a couple hours of the ol' ultra-violence. A good time.

Trouble with the Curve: Didn't realize Eastwood didn't direct, so it wasn't like I expected. I kept waiting for someone I liked to die... but, good date movie, I think. Certain Mrs. FMB! will like it.
