What I do fault Ned for is being a player's kiss-ass and not demanding more from his leaders and players. "You're trying to hard" isn't always the answer, but for him, from what we can see, it's his only answer.

I get injury, but at some point he has to quit being the nice coach and start being a leader. And keeping any/all criticism behind closed doors might work some of the time, but at some point he has to make subtle public suggestions that certain people might need to work a little harder, or perhaps "the team leaders" might need to work more with the young players to help them pull out of their slump sooner than later.

Simply out, I get the impression he's afraid of the players. And just because he says, "that's BS" doesn't mean it's not true. It simply means he doesn't want to talk about it and there's no way to prove it (just because it appears to be true).

You do realize the manager does not determine the roster right? I mean surely you do but I am not sure? You're wasting time talking about players not hitting and blaming the manager. This isn't little league where you are petitioning the coach to let your kid play. You don't publicly go to the media as no ****ing player likes to be called out nationally and it accomplishes very little if anything. Surely you get that right?

I am sure he talks to his players and the hitting coaches are working with them. Going a different route from Rios or Omar comes from the GM.
