Lets not be the 2014 A's, please. That was a classic case of a GM going "all-in" with a team that was already the best team in baseball by a mile at the time. Didn't exactly work out for them, as we know how their season ended.

I'm not talking about replicating the 2014 A's. I'm talking about playing better ball and winning more games in the second half than in the first.

That wasn't directed at you or an attempt to argue anything. My apologies for coming off as such. Probably shouldn't have quoted your post.

If our second half this season is anything like the last two.. look out. Plus if we do maintain and then get Gordo back in September... whew. Thankfully the Royals put themselves in a much better position at the halfway point than in years past and we can afford a little regression from something like an injury to Gordo.
