Sacroiliac Joint

I have a Sacroiliac inflammation or it is also called SI joint pain... The Sacroiliac is two joints in your pelvis by your spine.. Mine is on my left side and boy I'm in some pain.. Has anyone else had this??? I always thought Sacroiliac was a made up name in cartoons...I've had this before and am going to the Doc later today to get some anti-inflammatory drugs..Its not fun being at work now...

The injections only last a couple weeks for me and they're expensive. A good chiropractor will adjust you for a lot less.

See a chiro. When it's out of position it hurts like hell. I had it before. A series of adjustments I was normal again.

I'm a chiropractor. If you're opposed to trying chiro (or actually regardless and in addition to getting adjusted) you need to be stretching. Youtube some specific muscle group stretches. Look for a piriformis, hip flexor, glut and hamstring stretching program.

And also, if you do go to a chiro, tell them to eat shit if they say off the bat that you need 3 visits/week for a month before you've even been treated. If you're not noticing a difference after, if even minor, after 3-4 visits then it's likely more soft tissue than structural. Since it sounds like a relatively new complaint, it should respond quickly.

I have a herniated disc at L5/S1 along with a wonky hip. Some orthopedists don't even believe in SI Joint dysfunction, but I certainly do.

I would highly recommend going through a PT regimen to strengthen the surrounding muscles, along with focusing on Mackenzie exercises. I tried Meloxicam as an anti-inflammatory for several weeks, but it didn't do much. I only achieved relief with an epidural, which allowed me to better strengthen my core.

Talk to a PT or a chiropractor about the shotgun technique, which can reset your hips when they are out of alignment. You can also do it at home, but it's more difficult without a trained professional to help you.

From the thread title, I thought it was a new strain of weed. A special type of joint.

You and I have damn near the same issues. Except I have an extra herniated disk at L4/L5 as well.

I do what I guess is a modified version of the Shotgun technique when I feel my hips are out of whack - sit on the edge of a chair, hands in fists and those two fist between my knees.

Squeeze, generally instant relief.

A larger foursquare ball works really well.
