Exactly.

Perhaps you missed the point where they are 'neurally linked as one'. The trailers mentioned it briefly and so far we see them operating in synch because they are bridged. This is why they mentioned sharing memories, etc.

And it definitely wouldn't be powered by two people at the same time. Derp.
This. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this movie looks turrible/Barkley.

Some of that stuff could be done with hydraulics. Virtually everything on the sprayer and combine is done with hydraulics. But yeah, the response rate of the pump to do quick motions would have to be other worldly. Not to mention risk exposure of having the hydraulic hoses exposed to maintain range of motion.

I'm as big of a sci-fi nut as the next guy, but this movie does very little for me.

Yea I normally like Del Toro, but I'm sort of let down by the trailers. I mentioned earlier I hate the dark, murky cinematography. Have a feeling they set the action scenes at night in the rain to mask budget limitations. I think I like the idea better than the execution, but I hope it turns out better than what I've seen so far.

Even if that were possible, which it's not regardless of the level of technology, there's still no logical reason for it. There's no advantage to having two people neurally linked as one, while there would be countless disadvantages. If redundancy is a concern, then you have a backup pilot.

Or perhaps they are following along in the line of Godzilla having two brains (as seen in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993)), one in his head & the other in the base of his spine?

Or perhaps it's just a cheap plot device?

Or perhaps, to paraphrase the MST3K theme song, it's just a movie and you should realy just relax?

They need a love story, that is why there are two pilots.

redundancy is the logical reason for it. They never say if they act in unison or if one is a backup, my guess is that the main pilot has primary control, and other is a back up.

If it's necessary for redundancy, then why would a neural link be necessary? They could have redundancy without a neural link.

What happens when they have to piss?

I'm guessing so the transition from primary to backup would happen instantly without any delay. They are neurally linked so the backup is in constant sync, kind of how redundant CPU processors work with bridge technology.

Listen nerds, it's a goddamned giant monster vs. giant supermech Guillermo del Toro movie. Who gives a shit about the amount of reality you're going to need to suspend to watch this geekporn. Shut up with the technobabble and fap furiously to the trailers already.

Seriously? God ****ing damn you notorious. Seriously. Go **** yourself.

What used to be a perfectly acceptable movie title is now ass licking. And that power source in the chest of the mech...Yeah. Asshole.
