Yes, and the real crime is how unnecessary it was. The evidence was overwhelming without his "help". And many have blamed Marcia Clark and the other prosecutor whose name I am forgetting -- Darmin or whoever. They were handed a shit sandwich and expected to turn it into filet mignon somehow. I don't think they did an outstanding job, but their issues/problems/mistakes paled in comparison to the LAPD by 1,000 to 1.

Right, him. Thanks for the reminder. I've mentioned the new 30 for 30 to my wife, and we will watch it with our boys (aged 15 and 12) who have no knowledge really of the entire OJ thing, of course, given their ages.

Side note -- I find it crushing, just absolutely crushing, that OJ Simpson and Bill Cosby went from such phenomenal role models for African-Americans to such complete frauds. Especially Cosby. Such a complete shame and waste of their fame, talent and position as potential phenomenal role models.

While I still believe that Ron Goldman was a victim of "wrong place, wrong time", there were some very substantial rumors in town after the slayings.
The first of which is that he was actually Nicole and Faye Resnick's cocaine dealer. This really seemed to be a given, as everyone around town knew it. Also, Ron was purportedly a homosexual, which also illustrates OJ's jealousy, that he'd kill a man he believed was banging his ex-wife that was in actuality, gay. At one point, it was believed that Cochran and the team would use the defense that Resnick's cocaine supplier killed Ron and Nicole but after finding out more about Mark Fuhrman, changed their strategy. But Cochran still planted the seed with the "Colombian Neck Tie" reference. |

Thank for the heads up. My oldest is pretty inured to physical violence (the sight of blood doesn't bother him) while my youngest is quick to cover his eyes. They're pretty self-regulating in this respect, but I very much appreciate the warning.

Yeah, I know it. I will warn them. They can (and likely will) duck / cover their eyes. I will pretty much do the same (I'm not big on seeing extremely graphic violence).

From Kim Kardashian's GQ Story This Month
http://www.gq.com/story/kim-kardashi...gq-cover-story Kim: "I know people said at the time that he [joined Simpson's defense team] so he couldn't be called as a witness, because he had that Louis Vuitton bag that supposedly had the [murder] weapon and stuff like that,” said Kim. The day the victims' bodies were discovered, Kardashian was filmed removing what The New York Times referred to as a “bulging” garment bag from Simpson's house; the bag was later introduced into evidence empty. “But that bag was sitting at my dad's house. I remember I went through it. The news was like, ‘Where is this Louis Vuitton bag?’ And I'm like, ‘Oh, it's upstairs.’ ” Did you really go through it? Kim: “Totally.” What was in it? “Just toiletries and clothes and golf clothes. Just random stuff. I'm pretty sure it's, like, still in—probably in my dad's storage.” |
