What razor do you use?

What razor do you use? On your face, not your beanbag.

I've been using the Gillette Fusion for awhile, but I'm a cheap **** and want to find something better. I used the Schick Xtreme 3's a decade or so ago. So I picked some up and they chopped my face off. I don't know if I became a pussy or they got shittier. Anyway, I'm looking for some new options.

Astras are another blade that dull so fast by the time i get to my chin it's already tugging.

hate that

I use the cheapest disposable that comes with an aloe strip. I always blind shave in the shower. Also, no shaving cream/gel is in the same galaxy as Aveeno.

The Aveeno all natural is excellent as far as canned goes. That is what I was using when I switched to badger brush and shaving soaps.

From what I've read on the shaving forums the straight shavers say you need 100 shaves before you can claim any kind of proficiency or expertise. I had number 10 last night.
I would say that's about right. I've got 7 straights (not matched...dammit), and well more than 100 straight razor shaves in. I'm on The Shave Den, and Badger and Blade, but mostly the Den. I've also got 6 DE razors.

Don't get me started on soaps/creams. I have finally pared my stock down to about 6...but I have 15 aftershaves...LOL.

I'm not a member of either board but I research the hell out of B&B. ALOT of useful info there.

I have something like 8 soaps at the moment (and that, sadly, is not enough) and two TOBS creams. I'm starting to focus on the building of my aftershaves now. I have several, but not close to where I would like to be. I actually am about try my hand at making my own bay rum.

What used to be an arduous task has become an obsession.

I used the Mach 3, Mach Fusion, Mach Fusion Power, now the one with the pivoting head. I've been thinking about going the safety razor route, I went into the Art of Shaving inside the Oak Park Mall a couple months ago and walked out with a travel kit to test it out. They give you a baseline brush, preshave oil, shaving cream, and the after balm. I got the Sandlewood scent and it's good, never used preshave oil in my life but got some good tips on when to use cold water to shock the face etc. The brush is nice, the preshave oil causes my blade to get clogged up with hairs too easily, and the aftershave balm takes away the redness pretty well.

What type of aveeno? I'll pick some up.

I've been using women's shave gel. It's better than mens shit I've tried.

You gotta' get one. It's like driving a Rolls after shaving with a Hyundai.

Walmart generic, 3 blades on a razor, 8 to a package, about 6 or 7 bucks. Wash face, lather up, shave, poop and then in the shower. Every morning AFTER I brush my teeth.
