Will the Royals make the playoffs this season?

Royals currently 36-32, (as of 6/15). Go on the record and we can check back in on who was right and wrong at the end of the season.

Well, I was leaning towards "probably not" but I went with "not a chance" since that was the only option. We need to show we can play with Detroit. We're 0-5 vs them with a big four gamer this week. If we go 1-3 it will be pretty demoralizing. However if we go 3-1 then I'll think we're legit. This week is huge. (Chicago sucks)

I don't think so, but they do have a chance. Their division record will (continue to) even out. But I also think the same will happen with their record out of the central. As much as people joke about "be .500" though, I'd actually be thrilled to see them manage to do it two seasons in a row, playoffs or not. I know it's a low bar to set, but I think it's a realistic one for as poor as they've been for as long as they've been. Playoffs will come in time (maybe even now).

I have to be cynical after all these years of disappoint. I really, really want to be wrong however.

The AL Central is as average as it can be, so I guess there's a chance. I'd be amazed if we kept firing on all cylinders like this for any extended period, though. Hell, I'd be amazed if we kept this up against Detroit the next four days, to be honest.

This exactly about the very average play of the AL Central.

We don't have to be great to win the division this year. Hell, we don't have to be anywhere close to perfect to win the division this year. The Tigers are vulnerable on defense and in that bullpen. This is our best shot.

Glad to see the bandwagon filled up again. We lose one and it will back to trade everybody season over mode.

Agreed. The time is now. Want to be for real? Go take 3 of 4 in Detoilet. Go step on the throat of your long time master. Do that and we're talking about season changing momentum that I do think ends in a post season berth. Lose 3 or get swept? Meh. Same old shit. Still a shot? Make a run at the 2nd wildcard so you can get slaughtered by the A's? Sure. But a real shot at momentum that could be ridden the rest of the season can begin by winning this series.

Oh no doubt.

But, I want that bandwagon to fill up to get people in the seats at The K.
Seeing The K filled to capacity more than just 2-3 times a season would be great.

I seem to put a curse on any team I root for lately. I'm going with no.

He's either battling some kind of injury, or he's on a decline that we all seen some pitchers that is going through that phase.

Yes, and you can thank the Cardinals for kick starting and turning around your season.

no way.
until either of our teams prove they can win a single playoff game, the answer is always 'no'.

4-1 vs NL before going 3-1 vs Cards so you are mostly right, the junior league has definitely helped the Royals this year.
