There are all sorts of stats about the forum buried in the Admin CP. I'd love to make those available to everyone, but I haven't really found an add-on that does it well. But, I'm a stats geek, so I might bump this thread from time to time with useless tidbits that I find interesting.

Bump for new stats and also while I have your attention DaFace, is it possible to make it possible for users to edit a thread title no matter how long it's been since they posted it?

I don't understand why you can't edit it after 20 min or so.

As for your request, I'm not entirely sure. I'll bring it up for discussion amongst the mods.

Holy shit...we don't get record days by post count for the draft anymore due to the fact that it's split over three days now, but our active user count for the past three days has been off the charts. Prior to this week, the record was somewhere around 1250 in a day. We hit 1672 on Thursday and 1324 on Friday.

That's probably mostly artificially driven by the fact that we turned off guest access (forcing people to log in), but still.

What about today, err yesterday? Seems like the Server had more trouble today than the other two. But I could be wrong because I was at work during the draft thursday and friday.

Yesterday was still high (1221), but wasn't anything too crazy in terms of breaking records. I don't entirely know what the deal is these days with it locking up from time to time. Searching is obviously a major culprit, but that was disabled the entire draft, and we still had slowdowns. Hopefully the new version of vBulletin is better at handling large forums like ours once AustinChief eventually gets it installed.

OK, here's the basic stats stuff. We're currently on a near-identical trajectory in terms of daily posts as we were in 2009. Apparently regime changes spur a lot of discussion.

What I think is perhaps more interesting (as alluded to above) is that the number of people logging in every day is MUCH higher this year than it has been in the past. Of course, it will regress to the mean a bit as the offseason wears on without a lot to talk about, but it's still a pretty striking difference.

Kind of fascinating - we continue to be on an almost identical path as 2009 this year.

I'd re-post the mean daily users chart, but that one is almost the same as it was the last time I updated this stuff in April. So basically, more people are around, and post count is still on track for about a million for the year.

I'll be very curious to see if interest levels can maintain this rate as the new car smell wears off of this regime.

Hey - I also just realized that we broke a single-day post record with 8,221 on September 15th (the Dallas game), and the September 19th (the Philly game) was close behind at 7,915. Apparently winning somewhat unexpectedly gives us a lot to talk about.

(That ignores the "post whore contest" days of October 2011.)

In case anyone cares, we destroyed the previous single-day post record yesterday with 8,792 posts, and four of our top five single days have happened this season.

I've always wondered if traffic around here would pick up with a successful season. It appears that that is definitely the case.
