You can be excited to be in the world series all you want. Calling this game or any game for that matte at this stage an "easy win" is dumb as ****. He gave up 1 run in 5.2 against the Cardinals in the NLCS. I hope it's an easy win, but at this stage, I'm prepared for another nail biter.

Looking at Vogelsong's splits now. He seems to be a lot tougher on righties than lefties. His ERA is a full point lower at home this year, and he has never had a bad start in the postseason.
There's really no reason to say it's a poor decision to start him. |

Vogelsong has never lost a game that he has pitched in during the playoffs. I don't think this will be the cakewalk some of you think it will be. All that said, I'm confident the Royals can get some runs on him. If the Royals get a good outing from Vargas they should win this game.

Yes, prof. is correct... W is pronounced almost exactly like V in english, i believe they even CALL a W "vee" in German, IIRC...for all intents and purposes W is a V in German. (and V is F) so Folks-Vah-gon is how Volkswagon would sound Veber is how weber would sound, although it might sound more like Veb-uh with a pretty soft R sound...(Mox Veb-uh) and they pronounce BMW literally B-M-"vee" Bavarian (Bayernisch ?) Motor "Verks" /back to your normal programming

Hoots has got this covered either way it turns out. If Vogelsong loses, he was right:
This isn't an opinion. I'm right. If Vogelson wins, he was still right: Now, they are the Giants, so this could luckily work out for them, I won't rule it out. |

Surprised.
I thought Bochy would probably move Bumgarner up which would lend the possibility of Bumgarner getting 3 games in if it were to go 7. Not that that is ideal for Bumgarner, but its been done before on this stage, and if hes on its the surest thing to getting 3 of the 4 wins for them. Without him starting the Royals are easily the better team. If the Royals win tonight this thing is over even if the Giants win game 5 with Bum, down 3-2 heading back to KC. The only chance the Giants have is to win the next two in SF and get the split in KC. Witch still isnt likely as the Royals still are the better team. If the Royals win big tonight I could see a lackluster performance out of the Giants in game 5 even with Bum on the mound and the series ending there. Tonights game basically seals it for the Royals if they win. Barring a historic collapse of course. The Royals are the better overall team and the better team should win but if the Giants were to steal the series in the end, Bumgarner had to get 3 starts/3 wins. As much as id like an exciting 7 game series with the Royals taking it in 7. Im perfectly fine with the Royals winning this thing fairly easily. |

different teams, who were built differently
If KC gets a one run lead it's essentially sealed, due to the pitching/fielding. Outside of starting Shields the Royals pitchers won't shit themselves.

StL was up 2-1 last year before losing the last 3. Last night's game could've gone either way. I see no reason for overconfidence
