Bungie Destiny

Didnt see this posted anywhere.

Bungie's Destiny Will be Revealed in 5 Days

Mark your calendars for this Sunday, February 17.

by Lucas M. Thomas
February 12, 2013

Yesterday we brought to you the news that a reveal of Bungie's next project, Destiny, was being hinted at for this upcoming Monday, February 18 – an augmented-reality game on the studio's website seemed to be pointing toward that date. Well, we won't have to wait quite that long. It's now been announced that Destiny will be unveiled one day earlier than we thought, on this Sunday, February 17.
An official Facebook page went live today and made that announcement as its first order of business. A Twitter account for the game has also been activated as well.
And if all that isn't enough to get you hyped, have a first look at the game's just-revealed logo as well:

I was able to hope on with you for a bit last night. Not sure what was up with chat though. I was trying to hang back and let you get as many kills as you could since I was 8 level higher.

I kind of hate playing with higher level friends. They race through the missions and blast everything in sight. I like to take it all in and mentally plan out areas that I'll return to while on patrol.

Used pulse rifle most of the day yesterday, and it was fine solo, but playing with a friend yesterday evening I was having trouble with killing anything before he one-shotted it. It was just faster for him to get kills with his scout rifle, which reflects my own experience from beta.
Pulse rifles & hand cannons got a nice day one patch buff. The other guns took small hits. If you land a PR with a good sight, you will get a lot of headshots with that 3 round burst. I was all about the scout rifle in beta, and recently found a nice PR and some gear that increase PR ammo & reload speed.

Pretty much what I'm finding too. Aim for the chest and the recoil takes their head off.

My current auto riffle is way better though so I'm taking a short break from the PR. With a mag of 34 I can take down a lot of bad guys before I have to reload.

I tried taking on the moon strike with a buddy last night (both lvl 13) and we got smoked by the boss. We actually got smoked by all of the knights and wizards. I need to figure out what works best on that giant ugly bastard.

So far I'm digging it. I haven't gotten as much time in as I had hoped yet.

My only "gripes" are the whole ammo drop thing (but that's ****ing minor).

Am I supposed to be seeing loot chests frequently? I haven't seen one since the beginning mission.

There are 5 golden chests per planet, and those ones are definitely worth seeking out and looting - they have uncommon/rare loot that ranges from weapons and armor to vehicles and class items.

There are videos on Youtube explaining where the chests are.

There are silver chest all over the place. Check every cave and small building as you're running around.

I occasionally double jump straight up to look around and I frequently spot one.

Yeah you really have to look around. They are in random locations, usually in caves or hard to reach places like jive said. Bungie is trixie and will sometimes put them in obvious spots like under stairs, corners of ceilings, etc. I had two back to back on Old Russia, near those big beached ships. One was under a stairwell, and I went down another flight and there was another. Went down a third flight (bigger ship in the back of that area) and there was a Level ?? Knight. Fuk that I'm out.

I ran into a Level 8 when I was a level 3.....it was a little tougher than I expected it to be.

There's a couple of areas where you'll run into some weird high level shit. They are apparently set aside for future expansion.

Is this game a MMORPG game? Sounds like it. Is there an end game?

Not in the sense of a "massive" multiplayer. It's more of a FPS with RPG elements & end game content. Your fire-team for story, explore & strike missions (small boss raid) is 3 person, and larger raid is 6 player. During the story & exploration, you will see other players and fireteams running around the area doing other quests. One large 'town' area, which houses all the vendors, factions, NPC's, etc.
