That's a fair point. However, for the many people who believe so blindly in "free markets"...a lot of Trump fans sure seem quick to want to shut down any criticism of or perceived bias against their hero. Wouldn't the free market response be...we will replace Google with a better alternative, due to market forces?

So in your mind spotlighting the existence of something or criticizing is the same as 'shutting it down'?

Interesting interpretation of reality.

I've not seen anyone here declaring the government shut down google.

It's almost like your entire comment is one big worthless strawman. Can you show me the posts where the bad conservatives tried to shut down google?

Yet here you are, complaining about criticism while insisting that complaining about criticism makes one a 'snowflake' (and it doesn't, but you don't understand what the word means). All while maintaining the cognitive dissonance to not recognize the paradox you've placed yourself in.

You're an educator? Really? Your thoughts are so shallow you need a 'no diving' sticker on your forehead.

....
It's you that put up the strawman. My statement was Trump fans are "quick to want to shut down any criticism of or perceived bias"...I said nothing about the government shutting down Google. Slow down and read next time...before jumping to unwarranted conclusions. I even suggested a remedy to their angst...allow the free market to replace Google.

Then you follow that with more of the same ad hominem....do not pass GO, and return to Philosophy 101 to brush up on your logic....

If they could, a lot seem to want to do that. It's more that many Trump fans are just ultra sensitive to nearly any thing they deem insulting or derogatory about their hero. The shit so many of them slung at Obama for 8 yrs seems forgotten in their hypocrisy....

I don't think you believe that.

It's the right (oddly enough) defending free speech now.

The new Left isn't about unions or workers. It's about Socialism.

You have to see that.

This is what REPS get for supporting the never-ending-hate on unions...

Kotter is performing a valuable service here, making explicit and unambiguous the projection that goes into the leftist mindset.

'Here are all the nasty parts of my psyche. . . . Now, I don't have any proof that my opposition has the same nasty parts, . . . but surely they do. Surely. . . I'm not crazy. Everyone is just as craven as I.

Best to get on the offensive about this shit. Accuse them before they notice me.'

And, please, don't tell me big ole bully Google is the ONLY choice of browsers...that we are ALL FORCED to use their dastardly socialist platform!

Of course not, but the point is the same....do they have no competition in their other pursuits, either? Are you saying they have certifiable monopolies over most or all their markets?

It's the largest browser on earth feeding the larges AI database on earth.

This is not a conspiracy - it's the whole point of google expounded on by the Google CIO last fall for this EXACT PURPOSE.

I would also argue the 2.2 billion donated to Google by the CIA and the 800 million donated to FB should be ignored as well.

The same day the DOD dropped their 10 year project...
