Chiefs trade (Arenas) for...wait for it...a FB?
Chiefs acquired FB Anthony Sherman from the Chiefs...er Cardinals.
New Cards head coach Bruce Arians has no room for plodding fullbacks in his aggressive, vertical offense. So Sherman heads to Andy Reid's West Coast scheme as Jamaal Charles' lead blocker. The 2011 fifth-rounder graded out 20th among 25 qualifying fullbacks in Pro Football Focus' rankings last season. Okay maybe he wasn't the worst secondary guy in the league.
I'm still not getting worked up that he is gone. I bet there is some reason other than production on the field. Bet the Chiefs asked him to do something, some kid of locker room issue, asked to take a pay cut, change of playing time etc.etc. This is Dorsey/Reid's era. They get to decide who they want on the team. We the fans can only hope their choices were the right ones.

In this article, KC had the #5 rated secondary of last year (albeit, beginning of last year). This year's batch that we have is an improvement from 2012. I challenge you to find 10 better secondaries both starting and depth-wise.

We have Flowers and Berry. The other pieces of the secondary are scheme oriented players, like Smith and Robinson. I hope they play better than they have in the past.
