I think he has worn out his welcome in Washington. It is incredible what the Skins gave up to get him. Wow! At least he has his Subway commercials to fall back on.

Redskins’ Potentially Looking To Dump RGIII This Season

AUGUST 29TH, 2015 Anthony DiMoro

It appears the Washington Redskin’s marriage to quarterback Robert Griffin III could come to an end before the conclusion of the 2016 regular season.

According to a source, Washington has internally discussed a potential trade of RGIII and has at least put out “minimal feelers” to gauge what trade value the oft-injured former 1st round pick could have.

RGIII’s recent injury/concussion, which has spawned a lot of conspiracy theories, may be a precursor to an RGIII departure. It is believed that if RGIII has a poor start to the 2015 regular season or if he cannot stay on the field the team would look to trading him ahead of the NFL trade deadline instead of waiting until the end of the season.

Teams like the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and Chicago Bears were mentioned as possible candidates to engage in trade discussions should RGIII become available.

In the event of an RGIII trade Washington would then turn the reigns over to Kirk Cousins for the remainder of the year.

I think a trade would be best for both parties. RGIII's done in Washington, Snyder is a dumbass and their roster blows.

A change of scenery could be exactly what he needs but I don't think he'll ever be as good as he could have been. I get the feeling that he's damaged goods.

No one is going to trade for him. He's in the final year of his contract. Washington is stuck with him.

He is complete damaged goods. I wanted him in Cleveland so bad. Mentally though he's broken.

Cleveland would have ruined him too, brah.

I want to feel sorry for RG3, but he comes across in social media as a clueless prick.

who would even take him?

Bills and Jets are the only two teams with QB situations where he would play. He would play in Houston too, but they are stuck in the Pats Tree and we all know the pain of that with player acquisitions.

I'm sure it depends on the compensation. I'm sure the Redskins will start out trying to sell high to recoup some of their losses, but if he's in the last year of his contract and they don't plan on re-signing him then they'll likely settle to get something out of him.

The guy is only a couple years removed from being one of the better QB prospects we've seen at least in several years. The potential alone will guarantee him at least a minimal chance of starting somewhere else I'd imagine.

No one likes him. Because of the public man crush Daniel Snyder had on him he walked in self entitled.

Skins exercised his 2016 option at $16M, but it's only guaranteed for injury (i.e., can cut for performance). As such, it's risky to trade for him, have him blown out another knee later in the season, and be on the hook for a starting QB salary. Between that risk and the learning curve of a new offense, I doubt he's going anywhere.

I was unaware of that. I can't see anyone taking him on at that salary unless they had a new deal in place prior to the trade.

It's hard to imagine the Skins cutting bait after only a few seasons with so much invested but their hands may be tied.
