Football Will the Big X be left out of the playoff again this year? - Page 6

The Big X as we know has been hamstrung by not having a conference championship game and by only having 10 teams, and with Baylor's loss this weekend, the Big X now has only one undefeated team left - Oklahoma State, who is due to face two top 10 teams in the next two weeks.

Will the Big X be without an argument to put a team in the playoff again this season, when they end up with multiple 1-loss teams and no way to differentiate them?

The winner of Ok St and OU will easily be in over ND if ND wins out. Not sure this is even really debatable. Bedlam is essentially a play-in game this year.

Nate Silver has both OU and OkSt above ND in probability of making the playoff.

You guys are trying to think too logically. If Notre Dame is sitting there, I would be stunned if the committee doesn't take them. It's Notre Dame.

They're mizzou fans trolling the Big 12. The only reason this thread exists is because MU beat BYU on Saturday night.

There have been reports of bigotry chants by the MU fanbase at arrowhead on Saturday night as well so I wouldn't get too worked up about fans from a school that is currently viewed by most of the country as a racist pit.

I think it's a legitimate question to ask if there is any scenario where a 1-loss Big X team could get into the playoff.

Didn't a team slip out last year by sitting at home while teams were playing conference championships?

In this case I don't see OU losing to Texas hurting less than ND losing to the #1 team in the country.

But what about a 1 loss Ohio State? They finish against Mich. and Mich st. What if Iowa finishes unbeaten?

Lot of shit can happen still. Just not sure how Oklahoma's 1 loss isn't worse than any of the other potential 1 loss teams.

Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama have a spot locked if they win out. That's 3 of 4 slots already gone.

NCAA executives love Notre Dame and if they win out, they are in. Doesn't matter what takes place in the BigXII because they will be left out.
