Merc City & Furia

OK, maybe I'm the only one that will be interested in this, but I loved Pitch Black and Riddick. Getting a TV show and a movie.

Riddick is one of the coolest fictional characters to date.

I have no desire to watch a show about a bunch of mercs from that universe, but I am interested in learning more about Furyans.

Here's a quote from Vaako in Riddick.

"Actually, I had in mind something different. I've been thinking about an early campaign. My first. I was but a boy. We dropped Necromongers from the sky and did what Necromongers do. Destruction was breathtaking. But then we met resistance. Ferocious like a storm of lions. Each one of them killed over a hundred Necro before their weapons failed. And then they killed another 30 more. Barehanded. Our firepower and strength in numbers eventually won us the day. I can still see him, the last of those magnificent warriors, standing on a pile of his own. And he looked at me. And I will never forget those eyes. His eyes were just like yours. The planet was Furya."

Bad-****ing-ass.

I never did see the last one but I was a fan of pitch black and the first chronicles. Couple of the games (butcher bay and dark athena) we said to be good too but I never played either.

They were replaying Riddick a few months back on the movie channels. I don't think the movie got the recognition it deserved at the time of its release. It's a really well done movie, and it held up perfectly to a number of re-watches. What I didn't understand is why they didn't play the after credits scene at the end of it...

Well shit, keg. Spoiler alert on my second post, lol.

Of all people on here, I figured you'd have been one of the first to see Riddick....

I'll be honest about the movie....the first time or two I saw it, it registered a pretty solid "Meh" with me. Not terrible, but not anything to get excited about. But when it did the rounds on the HBO's, I found myself stopping and watching all the way through, and enjoying it every time.

I look forward to hearing your review on it, if and when you get around to seeing it.
