Cleveland Indians are getting rid of Chief Wahoo

http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2018/01/29/...forms-in-2019/

Fans will still be able to buy merchandise with the Chief Wahoo logo in the team store and in the Cleveland area, but thats it. The logo will not appear on uniforms, on signage in the stadium, or on anything from MLB.

edit: This will start in the 2019 season. Its apparently too late for them to remove the logo in the 2018 season for some reason.

They're not changing the name. They're changing the logo.

It's no different than any other team updating their logo/uniform design

Its a slippery slope, once you get to change logos because 5 people were offended, then you can change a lot more for the same reasons. The Chiefs will be targeted in a few years, bank on it. "ARE THEY SAYING ALL INDIANS ARE CHIEFS???" And the tomahawk chop will be labeled a racist gesture and banned from Chiefs games.

This certainly has you all worked up, huh?

How do you feel about players kneeling for the anthem?

Just remember the word Chief is a French word. It just means leader.
