Chiefsplanet Hobby Shop-Collectors-Buy-Sell-Trade

This thread is dedicated to those who collect things, buy-sell-trade or want to know what something is worth.

If you've got an item, someone here knows about it or may want to own it.
Insert a photo, comment about what you have or ask your question and see what you get.

If you have an item to buy-sell or trade with other planet members...do so at your own risk and level of trust.

Do you collect pocket knives, old toys, antiques............teach me.
My suggestion is that any transaction results in a small donation to the planet.

So my mom and my aunt are trying to clean out my grandparent's house.

They have a bunch of (I think) 78 records in a closet. I didn't look through to determine who some of the artists are but mom thought they were probably from the 50s.

Is there any value worth chasing there? Or should we let them all go in an estate auction?

Not unless you have something extremely rare.

My dad had hundreds of LPs but didn't want to move them when they came to AZ 4 years ago. He sold them to someone he worked with, $500 for the entire lot. The guy loved the deal and it didn't waste my father's time trying to sort through them and sell them a few at a time.

3 Easy Steps:

1. Do an online search for "Valuable 78 Records" and "Collectible 78 Records"

2. Make a list of anything of value. If the top record is only worth $3, it may not be worth your time. If the top record is worth $5,000 it's time to look

3. Pull out ones of value and try to sell just those.

If you don't want to waste time, just count the records and say each is worth .25 regardless of condition or value and sell them all or none.

Easy Peasy

Black Label Decca records are pretty rare.
