Aaron Murray and Kacie McDonell break off engagement

The Philadelphia News gossip section reports Murray and Kacie McDonnell have broken off their engagement. McDonnell left her job in Philadelphia with Fox 29 to come to Kansas City and work for NBC Action News 41 over the summer then shortly after announced her engagement to Murray.

Because these things are highly important, we have a quote from McDonnell about the parting of ways via the Philadelphia News.

“I’m loving my career in Kansas City,” McDonnell told me, confirming that Murray ended their engagement. “I’m really committed to being a part of this community for the time being. The engagement is off. I wish him the best, it’s best to part ways. I’m moving on my with life.”

Reports suggest things were going well up until recently. McDonnell was sending pictures of possible wedding venues in Philadelphia via Instagram, including Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. Those Instagram photos have since been deleted.

Murray’s brother, Josh, who was on the Bachelorette this past summer, also broke up with his fiancé in the last month, so things around the Murray household are not very uplifting at the moment. I’m sure both need plenty of comforting in this time of broken heartedness.

Murray was a fifth round draft pick of the Chiefs last May and was active for one game, the season finale against the San Diego Chargers, in his rookie season. He’ll have plenty of competition to make the roster in 2015 with Alex Smith, Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray, and Terrelle Pryor on the roster for the Chiefs.

If you were as hot as she is, you'd probably get invited to those parties

Seriously? I used to see Chiefs players all over town. Maas had a bar in which players would hang out constantly. I'd run into DT in Westport (along with a booty's calls roommate), and tons of strip clubs, where I'd see Albert Lewis, Dino Hackett and lots of others at Brother's III, Legs and others all the time. I ran into Barry Word (and another player, whom I can't remember) at Brooksider's on several occasions as well.

I've told this story but from age 6-11, Paul Splittorf lived directly across the street and Freddie Patek was two doors down. I played wiffle ball with tons of Royals players.

Maybe growing up in the Ozarks limited my exposure as a child. But I live in Denver now, and I think the only sports figure I've ever seen (and recognized) in my daily wanderings was the Nuggets' GM Kiki Vandeweghe, who lived in my neighborhood. And I only recognized him because he was the tallest guy at the "party at Kiki Vandeweghe's house" and I put two and two together.

In Denver, the football practice facility is way out in the suburbs, so I don't think any players live downtown where I'm at. I presume that the other three sports all practice downtown, but I wouldn't recognize any of the MLB, NHL, or NBA players at all. Carmelo Anthony supposedly lived in the next neighborhood over when he was in Denver, but I never saw him.

LOL. I ran into DT in OP and hung out for a bit. Fudruckers or something like that. He invited us to a drink, of which he had an entire table lined with Lemon Drops. He was on his crutches.

It was clear he could have had any bitch in that place, including the lady I was with.

One guy was taking his hot as **** blonde girl to the dance floor and walked by us. DT poked her in the side as she went by. She spent the whole time just looking over at us. DT then poked me in the side and laughed.

Saw Carl Peterson at FAO Swartz on the plaza too. Grumpy dude.

He was always really fun when I hung out with him, although it was a trip the first time I walked out of my chickie's bedroom and he walked out her roommate's room.

We just smiled and laughed.

I think its funny Clay doesn't think they live the same lifestyle. Media people might not have the same dollars behind their name, but you can bet your ass they are in the same social circles, charity events, etc.

I remember hanging out at Maas's place a few times back in the early 90s. He was retired and girls would still throw themselves all over him.
