Should CP members be allowed to pay for ban?

Bored and thinking. Should CP members be able to place 30 day bans on other members for a price?

I came up with the following chart that would explain how much it would cost. The funds could be used by Austinchief for server maintenance/upgrades - maybe purchase some new software for the website or start other websites for the Chiefs. Heck maybe AC would like to start having CP sponsored events at Chiefs games. No one would be immune from a 30 day ban (save Austinchief). Moderators would be responsible for implementing the bans (and subject to them). Whoever is banned will be notified of who payed for the ban and will be able to pay for a ban in turn giving both posters a 30 day break. No poster will be subject to more than a 30 day paid ban. Bans cannot be consecutive and each 30 day paid ban must be followed by a 30 day posing period before another ban can be paid for. All Administrative ban rules still apply - this would just be a way for posters to ban other posters with if they so desire to pony up the cash. The chart is pretty simple to use I'll use myself as an example - If I wanted to ban myself I would have to pay $85 (15+ years with under 15K posts). Each poster would only be allowed one ban per month and they do not accumulate, if you don't use it you lose it.

I think the monetary amounts would keep everyone from getting crazy - you would really have to want to pay to have someone banned.

I've never thought about this before, but we should pool our money to pay for celebrity guests. We build a pot of money, then send out offers to celebrities to come and give us 100 posts. I could see us raising $150 or so and then sending invitations out to a variety of celebrities such as former inside linebacker Tracy Simien, actor Scott Baio, figure skater Tonya Harding, and former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan. The invitation would state that the first person who responds will get the $150.

I think you are on to something - I have always wanted a chat with Tracy Simien - maybe Jonathon Baldwin or William Bartee? I'd bet they would be all over the $150

We can take the ban money and give it to the banned poster to invest. Just send that poster your routing and account numbers along with several intimate details about your personal life that you would never want shared with anyone.

This is a great idea.

I actually want to do this now. If we got some people to post, they'd hang around and then eventually Chiefsplanet would become this big watering hole for F-list celebrities. Can you imagine how fun it would be to go to DC and see William Bartee arguing politics with the woman who played Bailey on WKRP?

The Chiefsplanet version of "Where are they now?"

Of course I think it should be restricted to former F-list chiefs players - even though I'm sure Bailey from WKRP would be an awesome episode
