2013 Gambling Challenge - Week 3

The betting windows are open for NFL Week 3 wagering!

Eliminated last week:

DeezNutz
RedDread
Ebolapox (H5N1)
BIG_DADDY
SNR

PLEASE read the rules here. The number one rule you need to remember is that editing your bets is not allowed and is subject to immediate disqualification.

Remember that you must place a wager in the first two weeks of the season. If you fail to do so, your spot will be given to someone on the waiting list

Above all else, lets have some fun!

How to read the lines

Sample line

Thu 9/6 New Orleans Saints +6 +223 OVER 52.5
(Date, VISITING TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)
7:30 PM Indianapolis Colts -6 -243 UNDER 52.5

(Time, HOME TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)

How to bet the Money Line

Sample line
SAINTS +223
COLTS -243

First off, a money bet is a straight up win/lose bet. No points involved, so of course there are odds payoffs.

If you want to bet on the Saints, you will win $223 for every $100 that you bet. Conversely, for the Colts, you will win $100 for every $243 that you bet.

In other words, the team with the - money line is the favorite (therefore lower payout) and the team with the + is the under dog.

Placing Bets

PLEASE
, format your bets like this:

Colts (-6) $5000
Chiefs (+142 money) $1000
Chiefs/Texans (Under 38) $2000

So, Dart, I guess that whole "If someone doesn't bet for 2 weeks then you get a spot" thing only applied to weeks one and two, correct?

Lines are up on the rest of the games. Sorry, I meant to do that last night.

BTW, check out the spread and ML on the JAC/SEA game. That's insane!

Dayum. These two games should be fun to watch just due to how many points one team is likely to put up.

The OAK/DEN game is pretty much a win/win for us Chiefs fans. If Denver pummel Oakland then we can continues to laugh at the Raiders. If the game ends closely then we can speculate (for now, anyway) that the Donks are not really what they are all cracked up to be. And if Denver actually lose, well I could put my hatred for the Faid aside and enjoy the "high and mighty" Broncos lose to the lowly Raiders.

EDIT: That SEA/JAX point spread is pretty funny, but not quite the worst. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3120882

Scratch Denver bet. Make NE all in. Sorry for the screwup. Didn't realize I was low on funds.
