Is it time to invest in an Espresso machine...?

Every morning on the way to work, I make my daily pit stop at Starbucks for my usual Black Eye. This cost me $4.01 or $4.29 depending on whether I get a Grande or Vente.

My first question is....would it be a good investment on my part to purchase an espresso machine of sorts and save myself the $25ish bucks a week on coffee? I know I would be making the purchase of he coffee beans in lieu of just going to Starbucks and having it made for me... Just don't know if it would be cheaper to do it myself in the long run.

My second question...I drink solely Red and Black eyes...nothing else. Is there a machine can just make the espresso for me and thats it. I don't need the foam or any of that other Dane McCloud shit.

I am open to recommendations if you know of a good machine that may suit my needs...

Happy Thanksgiving buttholes.

I have one of these and I love it. Very easy to use, very fast, and no clean-up. $172 for the machine and most of the packets are around .65 cents. Can make espresso or lungo in about 30 seconds.

I have a pretty inexpensive espresso machine that I use for everything. it works just fine as a single cup coffee maker. No need to let Keurig drive you into the poorhouse.

I'm not saying that you can't go wrong with Breville, and they tend to be a bit pricey, but I've been happy with them.

Krups and DeLonghi also make some for less money, if cost is an issue.
I have the Krups and it sucks. The cheaper models aren't worth it. You gotta make the investment.

The patent on K-cups has expired so lots of companies are jumping into the market and undercutting the official Kuerig brands.

The most inexpensive though would be a french press.
