Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

So why aren't you all in on Mahomes? That's what buddha is saying. Andy Reid has a plan, and he's a great coach/team builder.

Why don't you just shut the **** up and celebrate our new QB instead of continuing to yak yak yak all day about the boring shitty one whose dick we're supposed to suck if he throws for more than 20 measly TDs in a season? Because that's Andy Reid's plan, and you just can't seem to stop shitting on it with disapproval.

You need a lesson in reading comprehension? I'm long on the Mahomes hype but he's far from refined and if you're hoping for him to start WITHOUT winning less games than you would with Smith, then you give the kid 2 years to sit, learn, and work on his weaknesses. He and his Dad should be thrilled he has the opportunity to sit out half his rookie contract and learn from Smith and his gigabytes; that's another less year of worrying about injury on a rookie contract going into the big pay day.

If I suck at reading comprehension, then you're damn near illiterate.

EVERY ****ING FAN on this forum is preaching for us to be patient with Mahomes and only let him on the field when Reid thinks he's ready. There's not a single person on here who said something like, "Eh, **** it. I hate Smith so much, so just throw the ****ing kid out there. What's the harm?"

I don't care what anyone says, this was a good trade. Hopefully Mahomes is ready in 2018 cause I don't want Smith for 2 more years, but I still think the trade was worth it. Didn't like it when it happened, but like I'm trusting Reid and Dorsey regarding Mahomes I should have trusted them regarding Smith in that he was the best QB available at the time. I was too busy falling for the Geno hype at the time

In hindsight the trade for Smith was a good deal. He immediately filled a huge hole stabilizing a floundering team that allowed Dorsey to use resources to build up the rest of the roster while still turning in winning seasons. He isn't great, but he's not as bad as some make him out to be. He's the perfect stopgap/bridge to a franchise QB. If Mahomes becomes the starter in 2018, there will be a market for him to do the exact same thing for another franchise if he doesn't decide to retire.

You must be then.. because EVERYONE is saying just about the same shit.

The excitement for the potential in Mahomo is there for all... even if he wasn't the one everyone wanted.

People are getting too caught up in old agendas and bitch grudges though... which leads to the silly drama arguments of "only 1 yr to develop vs two!".. or "they must really hate Smith to have made these draft decisions!" and so forth.

It's like you people are simply incapable of just letting go of the BS, and just being happy for what is to come.

I get it. If that's "the fun and charm of CP"... then cool. Go with it.

And, you think it's crazy now... it's only May 1. Just wait until training camp or the first time he shows flashes of brilliance in the preseason.

Good luck. The appetite of the fan cannot wait...

Dude, shut the **** up.

You have no ****ing clue. You have never been in our position before. YOU try going 34 years without drafting a QB.

We're going to be patient, asshole. Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean we won't.

Preseason? Sure. Play Mahomes as much as possible. Regular season? Bench bench bench and more bench.

You ****ing watch.

The only asshole getting into that shit is Tigger. And now you, apparently.

Are we digging at Smith? Yes. I don't think you ****ing understand that he was NOT ****ING WANTED on this team, especially for 4 years. We don't like him and his shortcomings. You have never been able to deal with this fact.

Again, if that bothers you so ****ing much, go to ArrowheadPride. They like Smith over there. A lot.
