*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*

I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149

Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

No one else started it so here it is!

**From the 2013 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

Fortunately I took out my frustration by riding the bike 70 minutes, walk/jogging 4 miles, and playing a wild game of street hockey with my kid. In the past I would just say "screw it" and go eat it out.

Progress.
I'm gonna be mad jelly of your calves when you cut down in weight but still have those monstrous calves.

I've thought about getting fat just to get some huge calves.

That coupon code is dead but the buy one, get one half off is still alive.

Sign up for their email deals and get a 10% off coupon. That brought my total for two 5lb jugs to 81.50 and free shipping. Best deal I've found.

I'm doing okay - I did take a week off - just because and that seemed to help my body out. I'm back to the grind since Monday. Today I have my midsection I'll work on.

I'm still right around 178ish I believe give or take three pounds.

I finally got through 3 weeks of no change, weight-wise.

I came in at 278 lbs, 14 oz, a loss of 2.5 lbs from the last 3 weeks.

That's a total loss of 142 lbs in 9 months, 56 from my goal of 225. Also, my dad just sent me his road bike so I can start riding that instead of the mountain bike I've been on...more speed, more distance, gets me ready for RAGBRAI next summer.

Pumped!

Just watched a couple fatties walk into the gym and partake in free pizza Monday before their workout.

People really have no clue about how much food affects their body composition/weight.

80 percent diet, 20 percent exercise, unless you are a pro athlete

I ate a little too much over Thanksgiving so I'm fasting today.

What does being a pro athlete have to do with anything?

Being a pro athlete does not make you burn more calories than anyone else.

You can burn just as much by exercising just as much/hard as they do.
