"16. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Total pressures surrendered: 155
Best player: Mitchell Schwartz
Combinations used: 13

The Chiefs’ offensive line got off to a solid start in the first month of the season, but injuries started to pile up as the season went on and the Chiefs lacked depth to overcome these injuries. In addition, most of their linemen were unable to perform at a consistent level and there were occasional subpar performances combined with great outings. This inconsistency was recognizable between run concepts as well. While the Chiefs averaged 5.16 yards (2.21 before contact) on outside zone plays, which was the third-most in the league, they averaged just 2.93 yards (0.90 before contact) on inside zone plays, which was last in the NFL."

The bolded part I think is especially true with this group- they just aren't very consistent. Anyone interested the link for the PFF article is here: https://www.profootballfocus.com/new...017-nfl-season

Reids playcalling and gameplans are based on misdirection and at times are very inconsistent.

It’s no wonder why oline reflects this.

They will get better. 2 series to knock off the rust of an entire offseason. And I'd bet it's a different lineup from left to right than last year finished as well. With no major changes, just people getting healthy they'll end up middle of the pack again. Not as good as I'd like but not horrid.

Hope so...Don't forget that Fulton is gone this season. He filled in very well at LG and especially at Center last season. One can argue that he was better then Morse straight up when Morse was healthy. He's really helping Houston's OL. Hated to lose the guy. IMO, the OL could easily take a step back from last season.

How concerned should we be about the defense and basically the entire middle being banged up? Berry, Ragland, Hitchens, and Sorensen all didn't play. Sorensen isn't a huge loss, but the rest absolutely need to prove they're healthy and ready to contribute.

It should be concerning. Berry didn't play all of last preseason, (which may have led to his injury week 1) Hitchens will be fine I think, However, Ragland may not ever be 100% this season and may be on / off the injury list all year long. I think Sorensen is a bigger loss than normal this season because of the "JAG Collection" we have in the Secondary and Watts is nowhere near ready.

Every corner in FA besides Gaines is better than Amerson.

Claiborne, Melvin, Colvin, Amukamara, the list goes on. pick any of them.

I think Erving is being given every chance to fail in preseason. He's doing a damn good job of doing it.

Yep. Likely b/c they traded for him and he has a guaranteed contract.

I get that they thought they could "fix" him but who exactly is the OL Guru? Its certainly not Andy Heck. That bum cant coach anyone up.

Who was there? I remember it being pretty bleak myself despite never being comfortable with what we currently have.

Having not seen the game yet, it's interesting seeing people on both sides of the spectrum on some players. Not really sure what to think of the corners, Xavier Williams, D. Robinson, ect.

He’s probably not ready but I think McKenzie is gonna be a good one someday. He may develop much like LDT did.

And again, what a ‘win’ it was to not have any injuries.

Redskins already lost Derrius Guice to an ACL tear last night.

The PI call was ridiculous IMO, he didn't prevent the WR from getting to the ball it was just a shitty throw that hit him in the arm but again they are going to call that one more often than not.

Take away those 2 plays and the narrative today is completely different.
I thought the final offensive play in the end zone looked much like the play Amerson got flagged for but with no call.
