I heard a burnt Charger hat morphs into a Chiefs one.

I know that Fashion Valley has at least 2 sports stores. They're always chock full of Chargers and Raiders s**t. The Chiefs stuff is usually confined to a back corner on a rack next to the Cardinals and other small market teams. If you're in North County: I've gotten Jerseys from both the the Oceanside mall and the Outlet in Carlsbad. This late in the game, your best bet it to stop by a "Lids" and pick up a cap.

Nice! Good luck! There are 2 Chiefs bars in SD as well. Bayside Landing on Ingraham in PB (I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE IF YOU GO HERE. Have a DD or you will go to jail.) and KC BBQ on Harbor in Gaslamp (Older crowd).

Hard to find Chiefs gear in SD, but generally there's a sports apparel store in every one of our malls...and we have a ton of malls. Hell, we have 3 large shopping malls within 5 minutes of each other w/ Fashion Valley, Mission Valley and Horton Plaza.

KC BBQ is awful. Just the worst in terms of food. It's nice to be around other Chiefs fans and in a bar that is fully Chiefs themed....but they boil their ribs....'nuff said.

I completely agree. It's kind of cheesy with the Top Gun theme as well but, for games like this, theres nothing like the atmosphere of being around other Chiefs fans.

Upon entering, make your presence known by yelling as loud as you can "**** THE RAIDERS"

I have a relative who makes 'fall off the bone ribs' he's so proud of. essentially, caused by how he cooks them which is basically just steaming them to death.
like, literally, you can pull the bone out as it sits on your plate. I imagine that's what the ribs at the San Diego joint are like.

4th and 5th in Gaslamp have amazing restaurants of pretty much every type of fare you can think of so you can stop in one of those and grab a 5 dollar cab to KC BBQ. If you want to experience "authentic" SD, just eat something small before you go and stop by any joint with "berto's" at the end of it on your way home to grab either Rolled tacos w Guac, Carne Asada Fries, Carne Asada Nachos or a California Burrito. That'll soak up a lot of the alcohol. You might feel like shit tomorrow but at least your hangover will be bearable. |
