On paper, they seem like a terrible matchup to me. And they won't catch us napping in the home opener.

I picked SD by 8 or more. That is my lucky pick. I will continue to pick our opposition by 8+ until KC loses.

Terrible matchup would appear to be elite secondary, elite QB, elite receivers. Well they damn sure don't have a good secondary, never mind elite, and their QB/WR combo doesn't seem to come close to what we've already faced. (In fact, we might not face much better all year.) |

I had a dream last night that SF weren't able to play the game so the Chiefs got the Huskers to fill in.
Huskers beat them 28-3. Lol WTF? |

This is the very definition of a trap game, coming between a very emotional win at Pittsburgh and a very important conference road game at Denver. It should be a fairly easy win but it scares me. I hope Andy doesn't let them look ahead.

Week one prediction- right on the money even the score. Against the Steelers- pretty much nailed the prediction last week except I only said Mahomes would have 3 TD's- I was wrong by half. Insane!
The Home Opener is going to be loud, it always is. I have been to over 20 and they are always fun, except for the ones we lost. Young QB's have had a terrible time coming into Arrowhead over the years. We have destroyed guys like Leaf and Marinovich. Unfortunately, we don't have the 95 DT lead defense waiting for Garoppolo, he gets a unit that has not found its groove yet. The defense this year has already been drug through the mud in the media and have played two straight road games against Vet QB's being protected by the NFL. Garoppolo won't get the star treatment like Broken Ben and Rivers did though. He is in for a long day. Garoppolo has been terrible on 3rd down conversions at a measly 28.8% making him the worst QB in the NFL in that category. For as much as the 49ers are paying him, I am sure they are very disappointed in his play so far. With the crowd in full form- and known for its 3rd down ROAR, I don't foresee him being more efficient this week. Even if Jimmy Grapes doubles it to 57.6, he is still far behind Mahomes, who is clicking off third downs at a blistering 120.8 rating. I think the defense is going to put together a solid game. Jones, Houston and Ford will be relentless forcing Jimmy Grapes into some bad decisions. He will have at least 2 turnovers even though they try to run the ball 65% of the time to keep our Offense on the sideline. They get a few calls their way and Scrandirp is good for at least 2 blown coverages so they end the day with 2 TD's and 3 field goals for 23 points. I don't think the 49ers match up well against our receivers. They will get a tipped ball interception they manage to convert to a field goal, but other than that, will be overmatched. Watkins get a TD, Reek a TD, Kelce a TD and Hunt will have 1 rushing and 1 Receiving TD. ButtKicker adds a rare field goal after the refs stall one of our drives and Mahomes can't cover. 38 points. 38 to 23 Chiefs win. The game will never really be in doubt and the final score will make it look closer than what it is on the field. 4 more TD's for Mahomes who sets a new record again, knocking Manning off the books for the second straight week. Go Chiefs!! |

After this week, it goes: @ DEN vs JAX @ NE Doesn't get much more "look ahead" than that (only because of the division rivalry, obviously we win that game going away). But then the Jags and NE. Every player on the team knows if we win those games, the road to the Super Bowl goes through KC. |
