Swamp Monster Scott Pruitt used EPA to help wife contact Chick-Fil-A for work

http://thehill.com/policy/energy-env...-franchise-for

An Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) aide was enlisted by Administrator Scott Pruitt to set up a call with the president of the fast-food company Chick-fil-A to inquire about a business opportunity for Pruitt's wife, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

The call was first set up by Sydney Hupp, Pruitt's executive scheduler, in an email to Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A chairman and president, asking if he would meet with Pruitt to discuss “a potential business opportunity," according to an internal agency email released by the Sierra Club in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. The Post first reported on the email.

According to the Post, Pruitt himself later spoke on the phone with someone from the company's legal department — just months after he took the helm of the EPA — to ask about the possibility of his wife, Marlyn Pruitt, becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee.

Federal ethics laws bar public officials from using their position or staff for private gain. Asking a government scheduler, Sydney Hupp, to plan the meeting also marks a violation of federal rules barring officials from asking subordinates to perform personal tasks, Fox said. “It is a misuse of the aide’s time to ask the aide to do something like this that is really for personal financial benefit.”

Now how many times has the side Fish is on sued the Trump administration? Numerous, probably more than Pruitt. That's okay tho' because Fish is fine on having it done to entities he doesn't agree with.

It’s also illegal for them to call and order a pizza, since we’re down to picking nits. You know, using government equipment for non-governmental business. We need to crack down!

Maybe Pruitt did that on his coffee break. That's his own time and dime and it wasn't gaining off the govt teat either.
What happens if he recommends a family member for a position in the govt? People feed names to others, especially Trump who has been outside of govt. They still have to be interviewed.

It was only an inquiry. Probably, could find 80% of the govt guilty.

Stop. We both know it's a horse shit complaint, if what's out publicly is all that's happened. You leftists are so brain damaged by TDS that you're trying to gin up things at the "Hey, can you get me a cup of coffee, since I'm stuck on the phone?" level.

Y'all need psychological help.

Iowa Senator Joni Ernst (R) calls Scott Pruitt "as swampy as you get"

Quote:
Pruitt "is about as swampy as you get here in Washington, D.C. And if the president wants to drain the swamp, he needs to take a look at his own Cabinet," Ernst said Tuesday at an energy policy forum in Washington.
Quote:
Ernst, a strong supporter of the ethanol industry, said Pruitt lied to her and other senators last year when he promised to uphold the Renewable Fuel Standard, and hammered him for more recent ethical lapses over "the way he spends money, the way he misuses his office."

Talk about hysteria - who said Trump should be impeached because of Scott Pruitt making this phone call? Is this what Trump Supporter Derangement Syndrome looks like? Any criticism at all of your Dear Leader's administration and you instantly cry about impeachment? Pathetic, looks like we have yet another bitch who can't possibly grapple with Trump's cabinet doing anything wrong.

In the face of things done up in DC by others, this is a minor faux-pas rather than real corruption.

As a bioD stock holder I'm also annoyed that the RFS wasn't honored as expected, however if he puts his wife in the top of Chic Fil A, chicken sales will be booming and the job creation will be good.
