Why I think the NFL will look very different in 20 years


This is the top game from last year according to ESPN U. Watch #40 for Baylor. Poor kid nearly dies and the announcers don't even notice. No penalty of course. Who would want to see that happen to their kid?

The NFL won't look any different 20 years from now.

As long as there are poor, young athletic males, there will always be someone to play.

In case you haven't noticed, the NFL's best athletes generally aren't kids who come from affluent families in which they have a choice of playing pro ball or getting a law degree.

Where would someone like Jamaal Charles be right now if not for the NFL?

A poor black male with a learning disability? What are the odds of him having success in life?

Dez Bryant? Yeah right.

As long as the money is there, these kids will "risk their life" if they view it as the only way to make it out of the hood.

I remember that play. I watched that game live and my buddies and I rewound it about ten times to watch that dude get lit up. The bloodsport will never die, despite how many snowflakes aren't allowed to play it. Somebody else's kid will step in and get demolished for our entertainment; and their enjoyment, scholarship, money, whatever.
