When your political party is totaly shut out of power and you're having to call your side "the resistance", it doesn't get much worse. Maybe you should change some of your ideas instead of screaming at others for not accepting them?

I was just thinking the same thing as I read through this thread. They won't change their ideas they merely change tactics—like Pelosi Merchandising of a Smear comments, lying about what their ideas really are with different safe-sounding labels, or trying to rig outcomes like HRC did.

The GOP invoked the "Biden" rule. They didn't do anything new, they just used a dem tactic that was used in the 90's. I'm surprised that the dem's haven't been complaining about simple majority vote to confirm except for the fact it has been only a few years and was done by Harry Reid. The Dems have a history of changing the rules to get their way then screaming when the tool they created is used against them. I agree with Rand Paul though, somebody is going to get killed with the democrats like Booker, Harris, Clinton and others advocating for "getting in people's face", personal attacks and harassment and a lack of civility. With thousands of extremists on both sides, someone and it will only take one or two, is going to take the democratic message to heart and start killing people.

You are assuming facts not in evidence when you call it "dishonest and immoral personal smears".

I can tell you one thing about how memory works from my own personal experience. I was never assaulted by anyone, but I had a relatively traumatic experience 38 years ago when I blew out my knee playing softball.

I don't remember the exact date. I don't remember the exact time. I don't remember what day of the week it was. I don't remember which softball field we were playing on. I don't remember what clothes I was wearing, what car I was driving, or what music I was listening to on the radio before the game.

What I do remember are the relevant details of the incident. I remember that I was running the bases on a muddy field. I remember that I was forced out at second base by a grounder to the shortstop. I remember deciding at the last minute not to slide because I had already been called out, and I remember making that decision because the field was muddy. I remember planting my left foot and trying to abruptly stop. I remember hearing a loud snapping sound from my knee, and I remember excruciating pain in my knee. I tore my ACL on that play, and I remember that a couple of my teammates carried me off the field. I don't even remember WHICH teammates carried me off the field.

All of the insignificant details that I don't remember are not an indication that I made up the whole thing. That's just how memory works. Your remember the important details and you forget the unimportant details, especially 38 years later.

Christine Blasey Ford has been mocked repeatedly by your side and by your President because she doesn't remember the insignificant details that nobody would remember.

By the way, she received numerous death threats from Right-Wing extremists. She was forced to gather up her family, flee from their home, and go into hiding to avoid potential violence from Right-Wing extremists.

You might want to keep that in mind before you bring up the Kavanugh hearings in any future discussions about civility.

Somebody already has been killed. Her name is Heather Heyer. She was killed by one of those "very fine people" in Charlottesville.

You can prove you blew out your knee. Ford couldn't prove anything.

Thanks for playing.

And Scalise and several others were shot playing softball. And both was before the Dems were openly advocating for violence so you know what I say is truth.

Then Antifa clubbing Trump supporters with batons in the streets, throwing tomatoes at them, blocking traffic and damaging cars with the same.

BLM tossing a concrete block on a police officer's head.

Then bullying average working Americans for their religion, values, family, friends, country and culture and acting surprised when they explode.

Nice story. If your reputation depended on it, do you think you could direct us to any corroborating witnesses/evidence?

No explanation of how memory works can make up for all the problems with Ford's testimony, but we don't even have to get there to conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that the democrats behaved dishonestly and immorally with their Kavanaugh smears. Their embrace of each allegation as it came out even as each was more implausible and ridiculous than the last is enough to end that discussion. But Ford's story is bullshit too and you're a fool (or worse) for believing it (or pretending to).

It's time for decent democrats and liberals to repudiate the incivility of the left. Are you in that group?
