I'd bet almost anything it will be Daniel or Fitzpatrick or someone like that. Reid's gonna want a vet in that QB room.

I bet it's Daniel again. He's the best option out there.

People think Bray knows the offense just because he's been here? Lol
Every time he comes in its nothing but handoffs and he can't even execute those. He's also dumb as **** so he probably is just now learning the street names he takes on the way to the stadium let alone the playbook. |

Don't love the idea of Daniel. I don't think people remember how bad he looked once we got out of scripted plays. I guess he's a cheap option. But he looked like a pure game manager to me.

Daniel would be OK. If Mahomes gets hurt, we're screwed anyway. NO to Fitzpatrick, he sucks. Bradford might be OK. Let Bray go. We might end up signing 2 FA QBs, or signing one and drafting another one with a lower round pick.

Unless a veteran can help Mahomes progress, I am really not a fan of paying a big amount of money to a veteran backup QB.
I think one possibility would be to draft a QB in the 4th round or later and have him as the backup QB. Look at what the Redskins did when they picked Griffin III 2nd overall and then Cousins in the 4th round, it didn't turn out so bad (well for picking another QB in the same draft). The Patriots are another good example of a team who will continually draft QBs. And then you can keep Bray as your #3. |

I'm not wild about having a rookie as the backup. I see no problem in cutting Bray, signing a cheap vet, and having a rookie as the 3rd. If the rookie progresses, groovy, cut vet in 2019, sign another rookie for #3.

Plaze no Chased Danielson. I do not want that MUtard on the team.
How about Colin Kaepernick? Honestly. Super cheap option.

Bray is not up for discussion as a backup candidate.
It will be a veteran on a team-friendly deal. We aren't rolling into 2018 without a veteran to backup a "rookie" QB. That vet could be Chase, but any NFL vet QB can pick up on the offense with an offseason and TC.

You just need a smart veteran guy who can help Mahomes with the subtleties, and if he’s hurt for a game or 2 gives you a chance to win. Of course you are ****ed if he gets hurt long term, but someone who can step in for a few games could be the difference on making a playoffs. I really think we want a veteran in the QB room the next few years. |

Always have loved Josh McCown's play and he is a "gamer" for sure not afraid to thread the needle and he would salivate throwing to Hill/Kelce/Hunt/? Next big playmaker for sure IF Mahomes ever went down heaven forbid. |
