So you are willing to say that the ball hit the ground and that he didn't maintain control of the ball. That is the very definition of an incomplete pass. See how easy of a call that is?

The replay clearly shows Sanders getting touched before the ball gets there and to top it off the other defender comes in and hits Sanders helmet to helmet, but there was no penalty there and not a peep from BlackOps about it. Then you look earlier in the game when Denver gets a 15 yard roughing penalty on the hit on Cam. Cam was a freaking runner that play and he was not down and diving forward and he got hit yet that's worth 15 yards and roughing? Again not a peep from Blackops. So whatever believe your conspiracy bullshit.
Maybe it's the inconsistency?

Who cares, it's sports, it's not real life...

If that's the case, then the correct call was made based on the current rule. If he hadn't lost control afterward, it would have been a catch, but as soon as he lost control it was over.

If you really want to pull out a conspiracy theory, Cam not diving for that fumble at the end was a little weird....but the NFL paying off Cam Newton to blow a Super Bowl is so far out there that only the true tinfoil hats are going to even consider that.

I said it touched the ground, I didn't say he didn't maintain control. He did.. But hey, you, Donk fans, and one NFL official saw it differently, so that's all that matters.

If I had to guess, I think Cam saw his own man coming over the top and tried to get out of the way to make it a clean recovery. Clearly, he should have gone for it, but it's not a completely idiotic decision when made in a split second like that.

I agree it is a storybook ending...but is Peyton having a storybook ending THAT important to the NFL? What exactly do they gain?

And whatever it is that they allegedly gain, is it really worth the risks involved in paying refs/players/coaches or whoever to fix the game? The benefit, if any, is tiny, and the risks are enormous.

Did you even watch the replay? There is no way he maintains control of that ball. None.

It literally rolled around and almost touched the ground again before he maintained control. That was 100% clear.

The ball obviously bobbled around after hitting the ground, the hand holding it comes off at one point...

That is exactly how I explained it to my son when he asked me wtf? except I added it was a completely weak instinct on Cam's part.
