-- I CHALLENGE YOU TO GIVE UP SODA!!!

Ok Fat ****s.

I'm challenging all of you 'pop' (as you say in KC) lovers to throw away the habit forever.

I'm a former user and have been clean for over two years now. I will do one 12-24 ounce cola once every month or less, So I wouldn't say I'm ENTIRELY clean - but pretty well behaved. Most of you pop heads drink tons of it, daily.

Well we have some darned good news tonight because tonight 10-08-14 if you commit we will end this habit or decrease it. I see no issue with rewarding yourself every now and again w/ a coke classic or whichever your poison. Provided you're seriously quitting. If it's something you can't handle and have to quit forever and NEVER reward yourself with a coke classic or whichever your poison, then certainly don't risk it. And only you know your type and restraining ability.

I'd like to challenge anyone who has thought about this but never been pushed. It's just not that hard to quit. So.....

Anyone down?

Yep. The amount of sugar in a regular-sized cup of most sodas these days is enough to make you throw up. You don't because they include other chemicals that stop that from happening..

Pretty disgusting to think about.

I drink a 2-liter of Dr. Pepper a day. I've tried quitting, but can't. According to my doctor, if I quit cold turkey, I would lose a significant amount of weight almost immediately. I just can't do it.

The caffeine is easy replaced by coffee or tea. I found the thing I wanted most was the carbonation. Sparkling water for those cravings.

Probably only had five cokes since April 2nd. I have taken to Sprite Zero and Crown though. Not drinking the cokes has made a huge difference in my waist size though. I'm going to have to keep it up.

I hadn't had a soda for about a week, when this thread was started. I didn't quit 'em; just coincidence. However, seeing this thing prompted me to continue not drinking sodas, and I haven't had one since.

It's not all noble and shit though, because I still drink the hell out of coffee and homemade sweet tea and lemonade (made by a soda company, so...yeah). They're probably no improvement as far as sugar intake goes...but they aren't soda.
