Anybody here ever actually run the 40?

Curious to see if we have any other athletes out here.

I don't have a stopwatch. Maybe I should see if one of my friends does and get some jackass to time me.

What's your 40 time?

What I'm trying to say is...your 4.55s were probably 4.7s realistically

Unless you really think you were as fast as Larry Johnson and faster than Cam Newton and Geno Smith.

But I suppose Dane is right who am I to rain on your glory days.
I agree. I went to one of the fastest high schools in the nation (holds a couple national track records and a bunch of regional ones) and even then most athletes couldn't run a legit 4.7. There's a big difference between coach billybob holding a stop watch and being electronically timed.

People do throw out some ridiculous 40 times all willy-nilly. I have a friend who plays some college ball at small schools. He always talks about how he runs a 4.3 and all that. He legitimately had a tryout with the Vikings last year and said he didn't run well. I asked what he timed and he said a 4.5 but blamed it on his coach for dropping him off late and not having time to warm up. Truth is, he just probably legit only runs a 4.5, but you could never tell him that.

I was chilling with him the other day and he was talking about some dude on his flag football team that runs a 4.2 I was like "4.2... Right". Some scrub on your ****ing flag football team in BFE, Florida. I'm sure.

The problem with most people is, they don't really pay attention to the combine like guys on this site do. The extent of their knowledge on 40 times come from their local high school coach and hear-say about local players.

I think Chris Johnson has the fastest official, electronically timed 40 with a 4.24. There's no ****ing way my friend would be a half step behind CJ in a race.

I was probably around 4.8 in high school. 6', 165 back then so i didn't have much weight to lug around. Played soccer and basketball for the team. Never was an elite athlete but was pretty good.

I got stir crazy by the end of the last snow storm and ran it at the gym. Wife hand-timed me at 23.8. Then I showed her how to work the timer, and I ran a 5.3.

Good times, slumlord.
sometimes you should just take a deep breath and back out before hitting submit

you just come off as an angry, sad human being

you'd be a top tier poster if 80% of your posts weren't attacks and then posts about how much integrity you have and how great of a person you are

no one cares; we get it; you do no wrong; you think no wrong

everyone already knows...why do you have to keep telling everyone 8 out of every 10 times you post? what else do you need to prove to us?

I think it's the nature of the human body. You can eat right, take care of yourself, exercise, etc. but it doesn't matter if you're a normal guy or even a world class athlete, age hits us all really hard, no matter how hard we try to avoid it.

We just don't have the capability to heal like we did in our teens and early 20's and you're exactly right: It goes down hill quickly.
Yep, we had a baby this year too. It's crazy how much that dominates your time. There is literally no time for anything else really.
