[Knock Wood] This is really the only major problem I've had with the OS since I installed last year. For a while I thought I lost an older printer, but that was HP's fault for no longer supporting it. I switched it over to a LAN port on my router from USB, and Win10 recognized it fine. I've also had no luck mating my Bluetooth keyboard, so I reverted back to an RF KB/Mouse combo instead. No BSoD [see knock wood above]. No other HW problems. Faster, smoother, prettier.

I love windows 10, don't get me wrong. But, just like Apple I swear their updates are made to make it run more unstable over time

Have you tried another port?
I'd take the drive to a friend's computer to make sure it works. If it does, transfer the info to another drive, then reformat your drive on the Win10 box. FTR, I have seven hard drives and had no issue when updating from 8.1 to 10. |

2. Transferring to another drive isn't practical, because there's over 2-2.5TB used, and I'd have to take out multiple internal drives to even recover MOST of it. 3. It's not an upgrade but an update. I've been on Win10 since it came out last year.

You could also purchase another 3TB drive, transfer on a different computer, and transfer. |

Yeah, I'd try a wipe and restore.

Evidently, and this is still evolving. The update was sufficiently large that MS erased all restore points prior to said update in the course to make room for installation.

Here are some before/after pre-finalized partition recovery images regarding this.
It's a 3TB drive. As the first image from Windows10 Tools shows, all of it is unallocated. And a big portion in RAW. After running MiniTool, found 6 3MB Boot partitions and the rest remains unallocated. I haven't finalized the recovery because I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do, and I may still have a version rollback available that might work.

I opted out of letting MiniTool or EaseUS do anything.
Several people have mentioned that System Restore Points are erased by this major update, but you can do an 'Update Rollback.' It's an option on the Win10/Settings/Updates panel. This worked for me, and the drive is back and in good order. But I also have to disable all updates until I can figure out from boards/news that the problem has been fixed. Guess I can live with that better than living without 2-2.5 TB of data. Got to try out Edge with it's first extensions. Not bad, but still not good enough to move away from Chrome, especially without Adblock Extension.

And now my Chrome is [at least temporarily] borked. It works, but there seems to be an update of Chrome that coincided or otherwise got entangled with the MS Anniversary update. Now with the rollback, on half the images on pages, it tells me I don't have permission. Can't check gmail, etc.
Chrome also keeps interrupting its own update, and won't grant me permission to the chrome browser download site. **** OFF MICROSOFT!!

And now Chrome is dead for me.
I restarted my PC to see if anything had failed to update. On restart, Chrome gives an error message 'side by side configuration is incorrect' Edge also refuses to let me go to the Chrome update page Stuck in this shitty browser. **** YOU MICROSOFT!!
