The Cardinal fan lady in front of us last night was shopping on her phone for the first 2 innings and painting her nails during the next inning. Then she and her husband disappeared in about the 4th.

Best fans in baseball was exactly what we were saying last night too.

The rainout rule is stupid and should be changed. But I'll take it, and I'm sure all fans of all of the other 29 teams in the league would take it as well.

Why is it stupid? How many games a year get called short? 2? 3?

And the season is 162 games - a lot comes out in the wash over that sample size. The way the postseason starts right after the season there isn't always a good way to play these games to their entirety. The rain out rules are perfect and shouldn't change. You don't think the Red a Birds were aware of the impending weather and likely shortened game prior to the heavens busting open?

I get why the rules are as they are, but I've always felt that 6 innings would be a better number than 5 innnings.

Methany pretty much admitted they were trying to slow the game down to prevent it going 5 innings because they were losing.

I love how 99% of the praise the Royals get from any national writer or basically outside of the local media comes with a qualifier so they have their built in excuse.

My pal Brad took this picture from our seats Saturday night. We just congratulated Esky on that play he made Friday night with the no look flip on the force out. He nodded and waved his glove at us. This is right before the game started. Not a bad seat, eh?

You can see me on TV from Saturday night's game. I've got a blue raincoat on with the hoodie up over my head, and a white polo shirt on. This is right before Alex hit his two run dinger.
