Home Built Computers

Stealing some mojo from another thread, I was curious as to who here has built theiir own computer? If you do, would you mind sharing what hardware/software you're using and what you primarily use the computer for (gaming, home office, etc)?

Also, links would be greatly appreciated to the hardware parts, but if you're too lazy, it's all good. I'm going to start building my own system, and I'm looking for some advice.

Thanks in advance.

Another buddy built this. What do you all think? It's got more than one page of stuff. Near the same price.

It's very good. No SSD like you originally wanted but that's a beast right there.

sofa fail
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1DG9Y5

that it the correct link. this shits all over the amd build an it is the same price. i even tried to build it at newegg an couldn't beat the sale price this site is having.

like i told him if he can spend the extra i would upgrade to the evga 570 video card. but as it it still runs circles around the amd machine.

also if you look i took off the free water cooling set up it gave you. you can switch it back if you want. i don't know if your into overclocking or not. but those all in 1 water cooling things have a nasty history of leaks. i personally would not use them. if you going to water cool go all out an do a real set up as those all in one units are not that great anyways

that isn't even the correct link. look at the link i posted. sofa failed

but it also has no ssd. the ssd isn't really worth it for his use. he will not notice the gains from in playing d3. his pc will start faster. but that 200 bucks is better spent on other parts. ssd can always be upgraded later one

yeah i am always a person to suggest building it yourself. but when i seen the link to the sales posted above i gave it a look. an the prices are sick. just can't beat those deals.

if not for those deals i would of said wait for the bulldozer to come out next month. but these sales are impressive an just can't beat it

Depends on what is expensive.

I just built one that is I-7, 3.0 for like 599.

Cheap compared to previous.
