Colons Thank you to KC.....

Colon wrote “Dear KC....” and then had this message attached to the tweet:

“What a journey! I can still remember the day I got drafted by the Royals like it was yesterday. I was so excited to show up to the K and see what it was all about! From my debut in 2014, to the playoff runs, the World Series games and of course getting our rings in 2015, this city embraced me with open arms and I’ve never felt more a part of something in my life. Playing for this city was an honor, a pleasure, and something I won’t soon forget. Kansas City will always hold a special place in my heart. To Dayton Moore and the entire front office staff, thank you for making me part of this organization. Thank you for making me and my family feel at home. I will forever be grateful for that. To Mr. Glass and ownership, thank you for always striving to be the class act organization that you are. To all the people I came into contact with in my time in KC, I just want to say thank you for the bottom of my heart! Always remember ... winners never quit, quitters never win.”

Pretty classy.... This is what Charles should have done in some form....

Throw in dozen or so "you know what I'm saying?" and it would have been perfect.

No he shouldn't have. The Chiefs told him he should retire. I'd tell them to go **** themselves

Seems premature. If he clears waivers I believe he'll land in Omaha. And I think he probably does clear waivers.

He wouldn't be the same player he is today if the Royals had drafted him. They would have either moved him to the bullpen or messed him up beyond repair.

Sale pitched in 79 games out of the bullpen at the big league level before making his first start for the White Sox.

If anything, he may have taken the "Duffy" trajectory where the Royals tried to "clean up" his wind-up and force a fastball-change-curve combo over the use of the slider.

But as we saw with Duffy, a pitcher with Sale's talent would have likely found his way.

It's pretty amazing that the Royals won the WS without big free agents given that Moore has had six top five picks and never once got a 4 win season out of any of them.

When casual fans talk about the Royals 20 years from now - Christian Colon will be a big part of the team. Just like how most fans think Brett owned Gossage (including me until he corrected this on an interview about the pine tar game).
