The state of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now what...?

With so much anger built-up with this current regime, I can't help but cheer for them after wanting them to fail miserably.

What kind of state is this team and coaching staff in who witnessed this happen if reports are true? Crennel...a defensive coordinator by heart, obviously spent a lot of one-on-one time with this troubled individual. What is he thinking? Scott Pioli...there are banners flying over the stadium calling for your head, and now one of your men has taken the life of a mother and then himself. What is running through his head. Same goes for others who witnessed this tragedy. How do you continue doing your job in a professional manner...?

I have never been in such a situation, but it is one thing to witness someone take their own life, but it's another to witness a friend take such a cowardly route.

SOC...what now? I support the donation idea thrown around in the other threads. IMO, there should be no more banners in the air for the remainder of the season. Do we now go full-homer and support this team regardless of who is navigating the ship?

Finally...if Pioli and [somehow] Crennel return next season, do you support them after what they have witness has humans.

I could have thrown this in either of the two shooting threads, but I wanted to hear your thoughts on where you stand today with the Chiefs. Are you rooting for them to win the remainder of the games this season and whatever happens with our draft position happens....? Is this a matter of football vs real-life to you and as a fan, you still wish for failure in the FO and the #1 draft pick. Or are you somewhere in the middle?

I duno...curious to hear how others feel right now about the state of our franchise given this morning's tragic events. Where do you go from here...?

I don't get the reasoning here. What Belcher did has nothing to do with football.

If I were at work and one of my employees did this in front of me it would definatley **** me up for a bit, but I would go back to work. Even if I had to go to another company I am sure to stay in the same line of work.

When two employees of an organization commit murder-suicides within a 3 month period and that same organization has rampant reports coming out about its toxic morale among employees... there is a pattern.

I realize that is too much for some people to take or understand... they'd rather hide from this dark, cold reality about the environment within One Arrowhead Drive that Pioli has created... but the pattern has been established now.

That can't be denied.

On one hand you say this isnt about football, and in one fail swoop talk about how fans rallying around their team after a tragedy would like a win for the teams sake.
So tell me again how we are supposed to seperate the two if you demand it and yet cant?
Add to the lexicon.

If Belcher came to say thanks to Crennel and Pioli before killing himself, that flies in the face of your theory that the environment was "toxic" for the players.

I hate Pioli too, but your logic doesn't match the situation. I realize that's kind of hard for you to take or understand.

Yes, most people here love the environment he has created. Can you post the other story you have mentioned twice now.

Chiefs Employee Involved In Tampa Murder-Suicide

September 14, 2012 - Bob Gretz

On Labor Day, an employee of the Kansas City Chiefs was involved in a murder-suicide shooting in Tampa, Florida.

Luis Angel Roberson Rodriquez worked in the Chiefs stadium operations department. He had previously worked at Disney World in Orlando and had joined several other Disney expats with the team’s stadium operations.

On Labor Day night, Rodriquez killed himself after shooting his on-again, off-again girl friend Jamie Kristine Kimble near the Tampa International Airport.

A little before 8 p.m. EDT on Monday, September 3 Kimble was returning from a trip to London where she was apparently visiting a new boyfriend. She was met by Roberson Rodriquez. The two began arguing almost immediately, but left the airport grounds together in a car driven by Roberson Rodriquez. Witnesses said Rodriquez punched Kimble several times with his fists while they were in the vehicle.

Kimble jumped out of the car on Cypress Street near Westshore Boulevard just southwest of the airport. That’s when Rodriquez shot her multiple times as she ran away. He then drove a short distance away and shot himself, later dying at a Tampa hospital. Kimble was dead on the scene.

While acknowledging he was an employee of the team, the Chiefs had little to say about the incident.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers are with the families involved,” the team said in a statement. “The organization will have no further comment out of respect for all those impacted.”

The 31-year old Kimble lived in Holmes Beach, Florida, an island community due west of Bradenton. She was a North Carolina native and the daughter of Ron Kimble, currently the deputy city manager of the Charlotte, North Carolina. Kimble graduated in 2002 from the University of North Carolina and worked in sales and marketing for BYB Brands, a subsidiary of Coca Cola. She was preparing to move to Dallas after being promoted to director of regional sales for the southwest.

Roberson Rodriquez was 39 years old and was from the Orlando area.

Occum's Razor (CP Favorite) tells me this -

Belcher was standing in front of Pioli with a gun and the goal to kill himself. Had he had issue with a "toxic" environment created by Pioli contributing to the situation he was in, he could have dealt with the source of the problem prior to killing himself right?

Pioli is a worthless cock sucking asshole and I am sure people don't like working for him.

That being said it had not jack or shit to do with Belcher's actions. Trying to tie the 2 together is ridiculous. Belcher had power over his future in KC, contract is up, leave.

THIS.

Reports are coming out now that Pioli, Crennel, AND other members of the staff were with Belcher for a somewhat lengthy (in relative terms) period of time and none of them were ever fearful of being harmed.

The relationship these guys have with the players isn't the normal employer/employee relationship. Many times the bond is more like father/son.

I'm not suggesting he won't EVER work again but it wouldn't surprise me to see him take a year or two off.
