Desktop Computers

My wife is wanting a desktop computer or laptop. I think I'll get her a desktop computer and a tablet for her to play with while she's at work. She wants something that has the ability to add Microsoft officer, printer, etc.

It doesn't need to be some badass gaming computer. It just needs to be fast for browsing, internet videos and what not. I'm not looking to build one unless it involves just adding a bigger monitor.

I found this one on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F5V...495978&sr=8-13

Without doing some research I couldn't tell you if that thing is decent or not.

Typically you pay more for an all-in-one than you do for a comparable desktop of the same power.

For what you are doing, that will likely work fine.

Price wise, I'd buy the cpu thing for around that price $350) and buy a bigger monitor. If that's a better deal. I'd prefer to buy on amazon due to having a couple hundred dollars in discover miles I can use there.

Are you wanting the computer in the link to be both her computer and tablet? That's what it is. But keep in mind that it weighs 9lbs, so it will be a little bulky to use as a tablet. It runs Windows 8 though, so you could do everything you've listed on that.

Note that it doesn't have video out. So you couldn't hook up a second monitor. At least not a traditional monitor. You could get one of those weird USB monitors maybe.

No. I'm buying the tablet separate. Probably either the Dell venue 8" or Samsung 3 tablet 8".

The desktop will be the regular computer at home. With a printer on it and nothing else. $400 is probably my range without the printer. I just don't know anything about computers anymore.

Someone point in me in the right direction. I'm going the desktop route and buying the monitor separate. I'd like around a $400 cpu but don't know what I'm looking for. Something I can install Microsoft office on and doesn't have to have an Ethernet cable hooked to it for internet.

I am probably going to get one for business and my wife's school. That's a tough price to beat for a fairly powerful processor.
