Star Trek: Beyond
Paramount just released the trailer to Star Trek Beyond. I am less than pleased overall.



Justin Lin, the director of the last 3 F&F movies, is at the helm of this bullshit and from the tiny snippet of Simon Pegg jumping out of a pod and hanging off the side of a cliff... it looks equally as campy as F&F.

Justin Lin, the director of nothing but remakes and sequels, is also the guy in charge of the reshooting (because there won't be anything new about it) of the Highlander movie.

I love Trek but this new movie series has been largely garbage. Little to no rewatchability at all for either movie. For the first time ever... I am more excited for something Star Wars related than Trek.

I wouldn't' take time to see this movie in a theater if I had a free ticket.

It looks awful and until I hear otherwise, I'm not going to spend a dime on further Star Trek properties.

I got Into Darkness for $2.99 on DVD and it was $2.99 too much.

Huge fan of UV, but still pissed about how they degrade their ultraHD - especially on VUDU. I have a nice 20 foot screen setup, and the PQ difference is a bit noticeable, but they absolutely kill the quality of the sound. I have a Dolby Atmos setup, but even a 7.2 or 5.1 playing off of the blu ray is 1000x better than VUDU's supposed 7.2 DD supported films.

Put it this way, I was keen on it being my go to over sticking with physical discs, and for PQ, it was a minor drop off acceptable for the convenience tradeoff. But, the neutered compression of the audio is unbearable. For 80% of the movies I have in my UV library - around 1800, it's not the end of the world, but I couldn't watch the others that have an awesome surround sound film track thru Vudu. I'd just sit there annoyed by knowing what was missing in the inferior audio.
I'm hoping in the next few years, they up the digital stream quality!

If this movie sucks and Simon Pegg doesn't walk the **** away from this "reboot" of the franchise... I will have lost all respect for him.

The only way to salvage the franchise, IMHO, would be to have a movie featuring Captain Worf/Admiral Riker / Retired Picard of STTNG correcting the rift in the timeline created in the graphic novel "Countdown" which explained the birth of this new bullshit.

Do the damn Klingon's story. How did the Kirk/Klingon fued get started? Klingon/Federation war story line. It's so obvious, 3 movies in and still no Klingons.

I love Simon Pegg and had really high hopes for this one with him jumping on as a writer. Will see it, but probably wait a few weeks for the reviews to determine whether it's a theater or Netflix viewing.

Kind of surprised to read all the hate in here. I thought the first two were great, and based on scores around the interwebs, it seems like most others did too.

I wish Abrams was still at the helm, but meh...worst case scenario is that it's a mediocre movie. It's not gonna be trash.

Dudes HATED the Khan story line. I mean hated it. Now they're clamoring for them to re-do the Klingon line.

I'm with you. I liked the first 2 and really like the cast. Im just going to enjoy the hell out of this run.
