911 was an inside job.

After watching this, I am once and for all convinced that it was an inside job...

does a huge jetliner, loaded with fuel crash into a skyscraper and burn hot enough to weaken the structural beams very often in nature?

When every single one of your explanations goes against Occam's Razor, it should tell you something. How conspiracy nuts can maintain confidence in the face of that, I'll never understand...

Nothing I've said goes against Occam's Razor. Occam's Razor is primarily why the official explanation is so easily thrown out the window.

NIST Position on the WTC investigation

The NIST WTC investigation team members feel that since our study of the World Trade Center building (WTC 1, 2 and 7) collapses ended in 2008, there has been no new evidence presented that would change our findings and conclusions, and therefore, nothing new that we can contribute to the discussion. NIST firmly stands behind its investigation results, and that the body of evidence still overwhelmingly leads to the following scenarios:

The WTC Towers collapsed because aircraft impact damage and debris dislodged fireproofing from critical steel components, jet fuel-initiated fires burned very hot for long duration when fed by debris and office materials, and the heat eventually weakened the exposed steel until it lost integrity and led to a global failure; and

WTC 7 collapsed because damage caused by debris from the falling WTC 1 ignited fires on multiple floors, the heat expanded and dislodged a beam connecting a key perimeter column to both a long-span central beam and a critical internal support column, and the column’s failure set off a chain reaction of failures across the building’s steel infrastructure.

Our comprehensive website, http://wtc.nist.gov, covers all aspects of the WTC investigation and provides three sets of "frequently asked questions" (on the overall investigation, the WTC towers and WTC 7) that address—based solely on our findings—many of the claims made by those holding alternative views as to how the three WTC buildings collapsed.

The NIST investigation into the collapses of WTC Buildings 1, 2 and 7 was the most detailed examination of structural failure ever conducted. Based on the recommendations from this investigation, two sets of major and far-reaching building and fire code changes have been adopted by the International Code Council (ICC) into the ICC’s I-Codes (specifically the International Building Code, or IBC, and the International Fire Code, or IFC). The 40 code changes were adopted less than five years from the release of the final report on WTC 1 and 2, and less than two years following the release of the final report on WTC 7. This is an extraordinarily rapid pace in the code making and approval process—a solid affirmation by the ICC that the work done by the NIST WTC investigation team was of the highest quality and critical to ensuring that future buildings—especially tall structures—will be increasingly resistant to fire, more easily evacuated in emergencies, more accessible to first responders when needed, and most importantly, safer overall.

You're wrong for the fundamental reason that you have not presented an alternative theory at all. Or at least one that is so woefully incomplete as to not be a theory at all.

The official story that you hate so much is that a bunch of terrorists hijacked some planes, flew them into buildings, and that the direct and consequential (read: fire) damage that resulted in the collapse of the buildings. There is a massive amount of data supporting this, including video of the planes flying into the buildings, the missing planes and people on board, etc.

Your alternative explanation is -- something involving demolitions. No clue how the planes tie into it (it's a cover story), who could possibly have done it (working with foreign terrorists), or why it might be done. While years ago you used to argue about some of that stuff, now you (realizing that you have literally nothing to work with) just throw up your hands and say "not my problem man, I just know the official story is wrong, I don't need to explain any of this other stuff at all. That's for investigators to work out."

And yet -- your alternative explanation is so utterly incomplete it's not an explanation at all. It's just "demolitions dude. DEMOLITIONS!"

So you aren't just violating Occam's Razor, you're raping it with a rusty, spiked dildo.

You either don't know what Occam's Razor is, or are completely wrong. Which is it?

... lol.

So you think the official story has more assumptions than the "theory' you're floating out there?

Assumptions, leaps of logic, holes, improbabilities, impossibilities, inconsistencies, incongruities, flat out falsehoods, and yes, even lies.

I don't have an alternative theory because that's not my job. I just know that the official version doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

I'm okay with the knowledge that roughly half of Americans buy the story despite all of this - I'm just glad I'm not one of them. I can't imagine being so uncritical that I could just swallow the story despite all the problems with it.

This is the most accurate description I've seen of the truther position.

Quote:

Yet you spend an inordinate amount of time attempting to lay out a theory that you "say" you do not have, thereby establishing a theory in the process. Circular logic at it's best (or worst). Remember, the epistemic status of a theory is that is just a theory unless and until it is proven factual. The whole truther position is a theory that is not substantiated in fact and therefore is untenable.

The problem with this statement is that you are not a critical thinker at all. You accept theories that do not hold up to real scientific inquiry (YouTube and Dailymotion videos do not count). You speak as if your umwelt is the lebenswelt the rest of us should live in, which is a logical impossibility.
