You scared?

Any of you guys worried this year marks the beginning of another seriously dry spell for Chiefs football? I can easily see them blowing for another decade based on this horrific tenure by Pioli. Am I just paranoid or is this a legitimate fear? I don't want to become a casual fan who watches 3 games a year.

Anybody have any reason for optimism in 2013 and 2014? I know high first round draft picks are reason for optimism but the bust rate for quarterbacks is higher than defensive linemen and we all know how we've fared selecting early defensive linemen.

Though I am frustrated as hell that Pioli hasn't been fired yet, I will not be scared unless he is still here for next season. Because then we know ownership is the problem.

Not scared and no longer care.

No more wasted energy from me on these morons unless changes are made at the end of the year

Yep and I am glad others are seeing the same thing that I have been bitching on here for the last 2 years.

Hands off owners like Clark are still responsible for the big decisions so let's look at some of those decisions...

1. Right after the 2008 season he stated he wanted to draft a franchise QB.

2. After he hired Pioli he told him he wanted to keep Herm or at least have Pioli give him a fair shake. They strung Herm along for 7-10 days until they fired him.

3.Then he told Pioli he wanted to keep Chan Gailey on the staff.

4. He then signed off on the Cassel trade and gives him a big fat contract even though just weeks earlier said he wanted to draft a franchise QB

5. Fast forward to last year he signs off on firing Haley during the season.

6. He then signs off on hiring Romeo…another horrible decision

7. After supposedly attending every Chief game and watching Matt Cassel ****ing stink up the joint he signs off on Cassel coming back and being the starter this year instead of drafting a new QB.

I give Clark credit for hiring the biggest name after he let Carl go but there is no excuse for signing off on Romeo or not drafting a QB. None.

Also let’s not forget about all the shitty things that happened off the field with this organization from lawsuits, to not paying people, screwing their workers and parking staff, and the way they treat former players. This isn’t all Pioli’s doing Clark knows what is going on and lets it happen.

Last thing and I will see if I can dig up the quote from Lamar but I believe he stated at one time Clark was running the team since 2004, which was when he was named Chairman of the Board. So yes Clark was responsible for hiring Herm as well and this is his 4th bad hire

Geno or not, I still say we are 3 years away from being legit, although with the amount of suckage sauce in the AFC West we could still easily compete for the division next year if CHunt makes the right moves.
The dry spell REALLY started in 2000, Gunther's 2nd year.

We had a brief period of "rain" under Vermeil but those years were largely fruitless as well.

Don't agree that 2001-2005 was a dry spell.

We were competitive with good teams.

Totally different than the last 5 years.

We looked competitive. A team with a defense THAT bad is never truly competitive.

If I knew Pioli would be here the whole time sure that'd be cause for concern but he will in all likelihood get wacked sooner than later and if the right hire is made we have seen enough examples of franchises getting turned around in short order relatively speaking that writing off the next ten years at this point is chicken little although I am not holding my breath either.

Ive said over and over again, it doesnt have to be a rebuild and take 3 years. Teams can turn it around quickly if they put the right pieces in place. Mainly Head coach and QB.

Of course, i have very little faith in Clarks ability to find the right pieces......

Look how quickly the Niners and Colts turned it around.
The Colts did it with a lot less overall talent than we have. They had WR and DE, and that's about it.

Wasn't their offensive line total shit last year?

IMO, we are a ****load better than the Colts if you add a QB and sign Bowe.

I wish I was hopeful but I don't have faith in Clark to make a good decision because he hasn't yet.
