****The Official 2012 World Series Thread****

GAME 1, at SF: SF 8, DET 3
The Giants wasted little time against Justin Verlander, as Pablo Sandoval went deep off the Tigers' ace in the first. Sandoval hit two more homers, including a two-run shot off Verlander in the third. Fece Zito tossed 5 2/3 frames of one-run ball, and San Francisco's 'pen sealed Game 1.(mlb.com)

GAME 2, at SF: SF 2, DET 0
Madison Bumgarner and Doug Fister exchanged zeros for six, but while the Giants lefty followed with a 1-2-3 frame, the Tigers righty allowed a leadoff hit in the seventh, which led to Game 2's first run. Bumgarner and two relievers combined on a two-hit shutout to take a 2-0 Series lead.(mlb.com)

GAME 3, at DET: SF 2, DET 0
The Giants kept stifling the Tigers, with Ryan Vogelsong working out of jams for 5 2/3 frames, and Tim Lincecum and Sergio Romo finishing the shutout. Gregor Blanco's RBI triple and Brandon Crawford's RBI single were enough as San Francisco moved to within a win of the Series title.(mlb.com)

GAME 4, at DET: SF 4, DET 3
Marco Scutaro's two-out RBI single in the 10th inning sealed the Giants' Game 4 win and a sweep of the Fall Classic in Detroit. Delmon Young's homer in the sixth helped send it into extras after Buster Posey homered to give San Francisco the lead in the top of the frame.(mlb.com)

This was a shitty World Series for just about everyone not named BIG_DADDY.

How do you not try to make a play on that ball if you're Jackson in CF?

Maybe next year Verlander will give a damn about playing for home field advantage.

And to think they did this without the guy who was pretty much their best hitter for most of the season.

Are the Giants the least talented team to ever win it?

I guess if I were a Tigers fan I'd be pleased with two AL championships in 6 years, but getting swept right the **** out of both WS appearances would be something I'd rather forget.

Bud Selig sounds and acts like he is dead or in a coma. The post game is more like a funeral than a victory. What a joke.

At least it's raining.

I am so sick of these East Coast **** heads talking about how the Reds weren't the Reds the Cardinals weren't the Cardinals and now the Tigers weren't the Tigers. Give me a friggen break. According to these **** faces the Giants had nothing to do with it they were just lucky.
