Grade the Marcus Peters situation

Might as well document our overall reaction.

It's Fs across the board.

They drafted the guy knowing that he imploded at Washington.

Reid managed to reel him in at the end of 2016, but still decreed he was not worth the effort when his talent clearly is.

Peters has blown up his chances at TWO of his last two stops despite his immense talent.

The trade haul was downright pathetic. I'd rather them just play Peters two more years and let him walk.

Nothing but F's for me. Period.

Edit: Forgot to include Clark Hunt, who refused to stand aside a player exercising his 1st amendment rights completely peacefully. F F F F F F F.

Go back to that draft, there isn't a better pick, there's no one you can go "we coulda had" all the guys taken after him are far worse players.

Thank God the Chiefs got Mahomes. If they had re-upped with Alex and done this trade, I'm not sure how much longer I would have cared.

Unfortunate that Reid couldn't reign Peters in more, unfortunate Peters couldn't be more mature in this situation. I don't blame Dorsey either, I think they knew what type of individual you were getting when you drafted Marcus Peters.

The juice was worth the squeeze until this season I suppose.
That means you basically think Clark Hunt demanded he be traded if you say it's not Veach's fault.

I'm not going to "Grade" this trade until at least 2020.

The Chiefs have an opportunity to draft two players that can contribute immediately in their respective draft years and if that happens, it'll lessen the loss of a talented but troubled person.

The only way I could dislike this more would be if he had been traded to St. Louis.

Kidding, but really...

Although I think we kind of got hosed in the deal, if you can't resign him to a long term deal then taking what you can get for him is the right move. It's Peters' fault that his behavior depressed his market value, not Chunt/Reid/Veach.

The lesson learned is to take what you can get, and don't draft people of low character in the future.

Maybe or he goes berserk in LA and looses favor. Either way we will then have knowledge of how this actually played out. IF the chiefs loose Peters and make the playoffs via division winner or wildcard is it still a loose/loose for the Chiefs if Peter's does well in LA? So many extra factors will have taken place that we can then go forward as to what type of trade this was. On the surface it seems one way, but in the NFL sometimes it plays out other times the massive deals don't workout. We will see and I am sure we will be reminded of it here (often) either way it plays out.

F's all the way around...complete and utter abomination.

Have no idea why you trade him now to begin with...would've waited until the draft or after and see if anyone else would've bit if they missed out on a CB target.

This entire thing is insanity.

I think you can go ahead and pencil that in. He's going to be a stud in LA.

No doubt. Peters was a steal.

A steal that leaves our team for relative peanuts 3 years later.

I'd rather have a very talented player at 18 who could contribute for a decade.

Do you know how many times guys demand to be traded this time of year and end up staying with that team? Marcus Peters didn't have the money leverage to actually hold out.
